Don’t make us get the Sons of the Confederacy together.

That last misunderstanding didn’t go so well.

Didn’t go well? You mean The Civil War? The Confederacy lost.

We did lose, but it didn’t go well for either side.

With Federalism as collateral damage.

That is, Federalism seems to have been mortally wounded in the war. It has taken a while to bleed out, but she looks pretty well on death’s doorstep at this point.

No the Confederacy did. They started a violent war of secession and lost.

I didn’t know there was such a thing. Of course, I’m not a son, either.

I have a great-great-great Uncle by the name of Jefferson Davis Scott, born near Joplin Missouri in 1861. His older sister, my great-great Grandmother, was a very bitter woman according to family lore (she has three surviving grandchildren that I am aware of, but may have others from other branches of the family).

After reading what went on in that area, and imaging what she must have gone through as a girl with a family whose colours were there front and centre for all in that region to see, I can understand why. I don’t think I’m any more for the Confederacy on an emotional level than, say, Harry Truman’s mom, and possibly less. There are a number of different ways of engaging it on the intellectual level.

I'm not a Democrat. My great-great grand father served in The Surgeon Generals office during The Civil War. His name was William C. Grace. He wrote The US Army Surgeons Manual. Look it up on line. I don't have any respect for what The Confederacy did to this nation. They damn near destroyed it.

With Federalism as collateral damage.

Which then led to the crapfest that was progressive-ism...
