Man fascinating stuff. You might grab some pics of that before its gone completely, if at all possible.
I actually did take a few the day I took Daddy back to where he grew up. He was very close to his Maternal Grandparents. Spent a lot of time around the sawmill.
Actually how he got his first job at Tyndall AFB after WWII because he knew how to fire a boiler, clean one etc.
His wife, June Carter Cash, whom I consider a gift from God to Johnny, took hold of him and introduced him to the love of Jesus. Mama Maybelle surely had some influence, as well.
Y’all missed the point.
It’s cool, whatever that song means to you.
.
Blessings.
“Johnny Cash had his problems.”
He also had some dark moods.
When he was married to his first wife he would disappear into a cave near Memphis for days at a time. His daughter Roseanne said her mother would have to get family and friends to help talk him out of the cave.
Probably mental issues that contributed to and were made worse by his alcohol and drug use.
Once he married June he seemed to settle down.
I remember seeing a picture of him sitting in the church looking at June’s coffin. I had never seen anyone look so completely alone.
My favorite Cash/Carter song

The description of what the Carter family did to prevent him from relapsing is amazing.
obviously you missed the point in the song about judging people...
no biggie... we forgive you.
Thanks. That was great!
I didn’t know about that movie. Just finished it a short time ago.
Not a great saint, but what singer made a movie like that? A testimony to his conversion, glory to God.
Johnny might have been a better friend and neighbor than a lot of so-called “men of God”.
That would be the real indicator of who enters the Promised Land.
I’ve always loved Johnny Cash, warts and all. A true American classic. WYSIWYG.
Could anyone even imagine Johnny going on to the next world, then complaining to God that He wasn’t being fair?
Johnny knew he was the last guy who deserved to be in the presence of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses...
So who’s the one most likely singing to those guys? :)
“So, could you sing ‘One Piece at a Time” again?’” ~ King David
So was Lot!
Johnny knew he was the last guy who deserved to be in the presence of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses...
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. (Psalms 34:18)
