Law or not, an allegation gets made that the BSA ‘knew something’ and then the BSA has to defend itself. The game is engaged the minute the lawsuit gets filed — and going after the organization is where the big-buck are.
I did that (BSA without the BS) for my daughters. They worked through the merit badges that interested them, they went camping and learned the outdoor skills. There is still a lot of value there, but I don’t want my family exposed to the “woke” version of values until they are ready to deal with evil presented in that form.
I understand your position. There are a great many good people involved with BSA, but the top, from the Council up is rotten.
Just curious. Does your troop still include Morally Straight in the oath? Do they still stress duty to God and country? Do they exclude sodomites?
Or does national come all unglued and threaten to pull your charter unless you admit perverts and exclude Christianity?
Bottom line is, are you running the real 1960’s era scouting or the leftist perverted recruitment that many if not most troops have become today (at the direction of the national organization)?
I have NEVER seen or heard of ANY Troop OR Scout modifying the Oath or Law. I have never seen or heard of National micromanaging a Troop.
As for sodomites, what goes on in any of the leaders' bedrooms isn't my business. If you're asking if any leader in any Troop with which I've been affiliated is gay, technically I'd say no because all the male leaders are married (yes...to women). Indeed, as a general rule, most leaders I know are pretty wary of new adults who want to get involved in a Troop, unless the adult is known to other adults and is a parent of a child their kids know. Even then, the other leaders will likely watch the newbie like a hawk...and if the newbie is a good guy, he will be extremely transparent and probably be overly zealous on the Two-Deep Leadership protocol. That is in EVERYONE'S best interest, not just for the benefit of the children, but in case there IS a network of predators the word will get out to steer clear of that Troop.
Sure - now they have to show a pattern of concealing, transferring perps, and enabling more child rapes (as they easily did with the Church).
1. Do they allow sodomites in the troops? then there is leftist pervert recruitment occurring. Acceptance of perversion is promotion of perversion. Last I hear the BSA MUST let sodomite boys and men participate. seems they lost a court case a while back.
2. Did they not remove “Morally straight” form the oath a few years back? I remember a big mess being made on it but don’t remember for sure the outcome. If they did then they have modified the oath. If they have not then the national organization and every troop that allows sodomites in is in blatant violation of their own oath.
3. As to sodomite leaders. No sodomite should ever be trusted around children. They are always trying to recruit (Sodomites are made, not born) and any exposure of children to homosexual behavior (including talk of it in any but the most derogatory terms) is child abuse.

"This writer" (John F. DiLeo) should ask himself if it is cruel or unfair to prevent single young men from taking teenaged girls on overnight trips sleeping away from their families.
If it is NOT cruel and unfair (as is obvious to anyone over the age of 12), why does he have a different emotion when it comes to same-sex attracted men and teenaged boys?
