The Rolling Stones havent had a number 1 hit probably since 1981s Start Me Up. Theyve had scattershot singles since then they were never a great singles chart band. They certainly have never had a number 1 hit on iTunes, a relatively new service. But this morning the nearly 60 year old Best Rock and Roll Band in the world is number with Living in a Ghost Town. The single was dropped yesterday to great acclaim. With a nod to the Specials Ghost Town, the song by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards couldnt be more timely. Ironically. the group recorded the song last year. But recently, Mick says in his video, they realized it might have some impact now, The accompanying video is excellent, also. So interesting that our anthems for this moment are coming from the Stones and Jon Bon Jovi, older acts that have stood the test of time.

It is a Stones Tune... nothing really memorable, but decent and true to their style.
Definitely if it wasn’t for the Kung Flu, this song would have come and gone without anyone but their die hard fans listening to it.

Song was okay. I doubt I’ll ever listen to it again, though.

“... really worked at their craft.”
Crackerjack point.
Nowadays it’s way more about marketability, than craft.

It just seems kind of bizarre to me. Guys in their 70s singing rock n roll. Knowing my mortality is around the corner, knowing I probably did things during my foolish days of youth that God will forgive.....I don’t know. I might want to mature a little. I can’t see my Dad rocking out to this music in his later years. He liked to hear Music that touched his heart and liked to talk about Jesus.
Old rockers. The term seems mutually exclusive in a way. I already prefer this to rock n roll:

Great by a bunch of old guys. Have never been a great Rolling Stones fan. Can take take them or leave them, but I like this tune. Good for them.

Definitely if it wasnt for the Kung Flu, this song would have come and gone without anyone but their die hard fans listening to it. That pretty much describes every Stones record since "Some Girls".

Garrett Morris: [dignified, dripping withsnooty condescension] Now, Id like to speak about thesubject of a certain Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones.
And Im going to talk about the song he sang a song in which he sings these very words: Black girls just want to have sex all night long.
Now, Mr. Jagger, there is only one question I want to ask you Jaggs.
And you better have the answer, man, you better have the answer, since you have besmirched the character of black women.
Therefore, here is my question, Jaggs.
[pause, takesoff eyeglasses, suddenly drops the pose, pleading] Where are all of these black broads, man?
[huge cheers and applause] Hey, like, where ARE they, baby? You got any phone numbers for me, baby?
Please send em to me. [puts glasses back on,dignified again] Thank you.
[enthusiastic applause]

"The best rock and roll band on the planet...And why they're a target of all the bottom feeders and sideline barkers.☺ " Somebody had to say it. They can STILL blow any other band in the world completely off the stage. Especially when they do their little bar room sets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMjnzxo-x-o But they have more flexibility when the bring the full band out... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAYmrQa0hts And this is how blues/rock is done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRot9IjNSso

"You Gotta Move" - The Rolling Stones
You gotta move
You gotta move
You gotta move, child
You gotta move

“Well The Who blew them off the stage on The Rock and Roll Circus.”
