Is it really better to be safe than sorry? A leading UK pathology professor warns us that the ramifications of a country going into lockdown could cause more damage than Coronavirus.
Professor John Lee is a writer for the UK Spectator, a retired professor of pathology and a former NHS consultant and he joined Luke Grant on Australia Overnight to give some perspective on the further reaching effects of COVID-19.
“The trouble with it is that they (government) have erred on the side of better ‘safe than sorry’… it’s a general principle of medicine, that when you’re giving a treatment to people, first do no harm.”
Professor Lee shines light on the fact that nations have overestimated the dangers of, and underestimated the danger of a population going into lockdown.
“The lockdown has side effects. From the economic side effects, from direct health side effects… people aren’t accessing health care, to health problems that were storing up for the future like people not coming in for their cancer screenings, not presenting themselves early enough when they have got chest pains for heart attacks.”
Professor Lee also touches on the murky origins of Coronavirus and if we may ever have a cure for the deadly disease.

"I would have done what Dr. Fauci, we both would have, initially. Because the first thing you do is you want to limit liability and limit deaths and limit deaths, and I think what they did was brilliant initially. But looking at theories and models, which is what these folks use is very different than the way the actual virus presents itself throughout communities. "
Given the same information, Dr. Erikson and Massihi would have made the same recommendations as Dr. Fauci, initially. Now it is time to reassess things.
These two docs aren't as hard on Fauci as the author of the article implies. At the beginning, Covid-19 looked really bad. As new information comes in, that perception changes over time. Except it took the time it did to get to this point.
Much of the press, left and right wing, are trying to make the professional disagreements and differences in approaches look personal antagonisms, to have good guys and bad guys because it sells. The reality is the people working on the science side are professionals who disagree professionally and aren't hostile to each other about it.

Nope, actually everyone has an opinion and 4 out of 5 have come to different conclusions...
He’s just presenting numbers to make his case. He does later explain how hospitals are forcing coding deaths as Covid even when it’s not Covid. So, I don’t think he believes those numbers. But, he’s trying to make his case to the biased MSM with the stats available. Should he make up any numbers, he would be discredited. But

Also the flu stats are not significantly different than Covid. When I say significant - I’m saying that in comparison, there’s not enough difference to warrant keeping parks, businesses, etc shut down as they are.
Locking down healthy people with sick people... The worst pandemic strategy in history. Need a nursing home bed? There are now plenty available thanks to Fauci’s failure and listening to the WHO.
Some medical professionals make for nosy neighbors. They’re eager to help because it puts them in charge. It’s empowering, especially when they become self-appointed neighborhood watchdogs with dogs, cell phones, cameras, etc., but no stethoscope.

Same rules for the entire Upper Peninsula of Michigan as Metro Detroit. That does not compute.

Only in NY&NJ and perhaps N.O. are healthcare workers hyper panicked. The rest of this huge country has been minimally affected and peple are really quite calm if not becoming increasingly pissed off at the senseless shut down of so many businesses.
So yes, those screaming about this flu being Armageddon are wrong and this will all become obvious fairly soon.
It does not compute to you because you did not watch and listen. The docs in the video are all for the vulnerable self-quaranteeing, but they insist that if the HEALTHY continue to isolate we are actually DEPRESSING our immune systems and making ourselves more vulnerable to EVERY virus. PLUS, the hospitals are closing floors and sending employees home, which will leave us even more at risk.
I think it’s a form of “zero tolerance” measures being taken where no reasonable cause exists for such an amplified alarm. She uses too a broad brush with the “universality” of her rules. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Our media elites are largely concentrated in the NYC area. The reality they perceive being in a hot spot is vastly different from the reality in the rest of the country. This hugely affects reporting on the subject, This hasn’t been talked about much.
