Democrats Panic Over Coming Good Economic News
DB Daily Update ^ | David Blackmon

This tells you all you need to know about the Democrat Party and its hatred for Main Street America. A new story at Politico today details a growing sense of panic among leaders in the Democrat Party over the prospect that the U.S. economy might actually – gasp! – recover in the months leading up to the November election.

You seriously could never make this stuff up.

From the Politico story:

In early April, Jason Furman, a top economist in the Obama administration and now a professor at Harvard, was speaking via Zoom to a large bipartisan group of top officials from both parties. The economy had just been shut down, unemployment was spiking, and some policymakers were predicting an era worse than the Great Depression. The economic carnage seemed likely to doom President Donald Trump’s chances at reelection.

Furman, tapped to give the opening presentation, looked into his screen of poorly lit boxes of frightened wonks and made a startling claim.

“We are about to see the best economic data we’ve seen in the history of this country,” he said. The former cabinet secretaries and Federal Reserve chairs in the Zoom boxes were confused, though some of the Republicans may have been newly relieved and some of the Democrats suddenly concerned.

“Everyone looked puzzled and thought I had misspoken,” Furman said in an interview. Instead of forecasting a prolonged depression-level economic catastrophe, Furman laid out a detailed case for why the months preceding the November election could offer Trump the chance to brag — truthfully — about the most explosive monthly employment numbers and GDP growth ever.

Furman’s counterintuitive pitch has caused some Democrats, especially Obama alumni, around Washington to panic. “This is my big worry,” said a former Obama White House official who is still close to the former president. Asked about the level of concern among top party officials, he said, “It’s high — high, high, high, high.”

[End]

Any questions?

In case you need the Cliff’s Notes of that passage, here it is in one simple sentence:

Democrats are in a panic over the prospect that the U.S. economy will rapidly recover from the Wuhan Virus pandemic.

That’s not coming from some conservative journal like the American Spectator or Townhall.com. It’s not a conspiracy theory being tossed around on Twitter. It’s a major report from one of the most reliably-liberal rags in the nation’s capital.

And the story just gets better. Check this out:

One progressive Democratic operative pointed out that recent polling, taken during the nadir of the crisis, shows Biden is struggling to best Trump on who is more trusted to handle the economy. “Trump beats Biden on the economy even right now!” he said. “This is going to be extremely difficult no matter what. It’s existential that we figure it out. In any of these economic scenarios Democrats are going to have to win the argument that our public health and economy are much worse off because of Donald Trump’s failure of leadership.”

The former Obama White House official said, “Even today when we are at over 20 million unemployed Trump gets high marks on the economy, so I can’t imagine what it looks like when things go in the other direction. I don’t think this is a challenge for the Biden campaign. This is the challenge for the Biden campaign. If they can’t figure this out they should all just go home.

[End]

Hilarious.

And here’s what makes this panic even more perversely enjoyable to watch: With their failing strategy of trying to prolong the economic shut-downs in blue states for as long as possible, thuggish Democrat governors and mayors are in reality creating a more favorable third quarter situation for the economy and thus for President Trump.

Think about it: if the Gretchen Whitmers and Gavin Newsoms and J.B. Pritzkers and Kate Browns were doing the right thing for their states and rapidly reopening now, during the second quarter, they would have the effect of dampening the economic recovery numbers we will likely see during Q3. They would have been better off politically by creating as much economic re-growth as possible while the election was still months away.

But because they have continued to dither with their citizens’ lives and livelihoods for purely political reasons over the past month, the U.S. has now become much more likely to see explosive economic re-growth take place during August through October, with the election just around the corner.

Thus, the Democrat Party, through its own brutish mendacity, has now dug itself a deep hole from recovery will be near-impossible.

All you need to know about these people is that a robust U.S. economic recovery is literally their biggest current political fright scenario.

If this surprises you, you need to pay closer attention.

That is all.

This is why the Blue States are staying closed for as long as possible.

If Cuomo and Newsome can keep their states under their boot heels right up until November the economy may actually be crippled. Of course, by then there will be a truly stark comparison obvious between the two Democrat run states and the rest of the country.

...there will be a truly stark comparison obvious between the two Democrat run states and the rest of the country.

And President Trump will use that in his speeches.

Dims are digging their own graves.

Economic collapse is what the Dems are counting on to defeat the President. They don’t know President Trump very well. He is going to kick their derrieres up one alley and down the other.

This is why the Plandemic goes on and on.

We have seen evidence from doctors that they have been presssured to attribute deaths to COVID. Now we are hearing about fears of a “second wave”. The quotes in this article give further evidence that much of this COVID lockdown nonsense is nothing more than politically driven, as many have long suspected.

Why has there never really been a news analysis of the breakdown of COVID deaths? Why? Because it has been primarily the elderly. Primarily those with a comorbidity. And yes, occasionally a few healthy people have died, just as has been the case with any viral flu.

What may have started out as genuine concern quickly got highjacked to destroy crush the economy as a means to thwart the reelection of Trump. The quotes in this article prove just that.

The morning commute traffic slowed down for about three weeks when all of this started but now is almost back to where it was in my area.

I guess small business is no longer part of the economic numbers if 100’s of thousands are underwater. Kind of like we have no inflation because food doesn’t count. Garbage in and garbage out.

This is shaping up in a way similar to the Battle of the Bulge. Just like their leftist predecessors in 1944, the US socialists of today have launched a major surprise counteroffensive, using the virus to destroy the economy, putting everything on the line in one last, final desperate bid to reverse their electoral fortunes. If they can successfully keep the economy down until the election, they have a chance to turn the tide in their favor. If they fail, having fired shot their biggest rounds of ammunition, their political hopes will be crushed in a more spectacular and devastating manner than anyone ever dreamed. The stakes right now for the future of this nation are the highest they’ve ever been in living memory.

Not to mention, the Gretchen Whitmers of the world have to be pissing off citizens with their stay-at-home orders...no one wants to sit at home on national holidays and during the summer. All the feel-good social media and network advertising won't change that.

Come Election Day, people will be itching to get out and vote, and I hope it won't be to put Democrats in office.

Staying shut down only proves two things:
1. That the Dem governors don’t really think about the well-being of their citizens. They are control freaks, pure and simple.
2. That the Dem governors are actually ignorant of economics. They don’t know how to live within a budget, and they don’t know that by delaying opening up, they are in the end, making Q3 numbers soar.

I can only hope Trump gets re-elected. It could be one of the most important elections in my lifetime.

As WU-FLU winds down, the other common flu is ramping up to take it’s place. Another CDC FOUL UP, not 1 SUCCESSFUL VACCINE SINCE SWINE FLU. Death numbers about equal to WU-FLU in the exact same populations, if that doesn’t make you mad OBAMA ordered this population double vaccines, then triple. The new one in the works is a 6 in 1 shot.

THE ISOLATION, MASKS, made many vulnerable to the common flu, despite even the single dose one. NOT had a flu shot since Swine Flu made me sick and dehydrated to the point the ER was needed. I maybe a Senior, I’m not Senile like Biden.

Hospitals Overwhelmed by Flu Patients Are Treating Them in Tents

“We had to treat patients in places where we normally wouldn’t, like in recovery rooms,” says Camins. “The emergency room was very crowded, both with sick patients who needed to be admitted and patients who just needed to be seen and given Tamiflu.”

They sure do, and it is really sad. My best guess is they have at least a 47% chance of winning in November.

Force 40 million into unemployment and then brag about a few million of them going back to work? That would be along thw lines of Obama taking credit for the rebound after Soros trashed the economy to get him elected in 2008.

People underatand how good Trump’s policies have been for the economy and how right he was about China and domestic manufacturing.

Here’s the irony....Trump will have a quarter of double digit GDP before the end of the year. I am hoping for Q3, just before the election.
