Fierce protests have been raging in Minneapolis since an unarmed black man, George Floyd, died in police custody on Monday. Overnight, protesters broke into a police precinct in the city and set it on fire as the violence escalated. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has activated the state National Guard in a bid to restore order. Four officers involved in the incident have been fired but have not yet faced charges, with prosecutors stating they are still gathering evidence.
But one moment, in particular, caught the eye of the American public, a CNN reporter was arrested on live TV. Reporter Omar Jimenez has been arrested live on television in Minneapolis while reporting on widespread looting and riots throughout the city. He was live on-air speaking about the situation when police in riot gear arrested Mr. Jimenez, placing him in handcuffs. The police then led him to a waiting patrol car. Video below:

CNN gave a statement in which they explained why their reporter was arrested. Police told the crew they were being detained because they were told to move, and didnt, one member of the CNN crew relayed to the network. A CNN reporter and his production team were arrested this morning in Minneapolis for doing their jobs, despite identifying themselves a clear violation of their First Amendment rights. The authorities in Minnesota, including the Governor, must release the three CNN employees immediately, CNN said in a statement.
Of course, there were cries for racism from CNN even do a white cameraman was arrested too.
CNNs Josh Campell, who also was in the area but not standing with the on-air crew, said he, too, was approached by police, but was allowed to remain. I identified myself they said, OK, youre permitted to be in the area,' recounted Campbell, who is white. I was treated much differently than (Jimenez) was.

They are fanning the flames on this so they are part of it.
Me thinks the CNN scum were arrested for pulling a Whoraldo Rivera in a war zone.
What do you think?
I enjoy intra-Democrat-party squabbles.
CNN says that the reporters were doing their jobs. So were the police. If the reporters presented a potential problem for the police in an emergency, the reporters should have obeyed the police orders.
I do not recognize CNN as “the press” and I do not support constitutional protection for them. They are inciting people to riot through their on-air activism and they should be subject to arrest.
Do you know who I am?
LOL. Press, pampered privileged liars. I’ll go deaf if I hear a call for help.
Lawful order given, ignored got what they deserve!
What will be left?
Liquor stores, thugs, people too poor to move, and whiny black women lamenting that white people have nice stores and they dont...
“Were told to leave and didn’t “ They were arrested and that equal’s racism?
Was it CNN during the Gulf War that ‘admitted’ they were in contact with Iraqi leaders and knew some of the activities they were planning but couldn’t let US officials know as they may lose their ‘source’?
We need ANOTHER ‘Stormin’ Norman, had enough of the sit in the back shuddering they may weewee someone off general officers.
They may have been ‘rude & Crude’ but Patton, MacArthur etal got things done— even Sherman but he seeded to ‘like’ his work BUT he did kill the economy (and most anything in his path) from Atlanta to the Sea.
And who (that saw him) could forget the ‘Scud Stud’ who was not quite in a studio BUT those bombs bursting in air weren’t exactly dropping shrapnel on or near him....
For my part, the Russian news organization Pravda gets twice the respect I can give CNN...
It seems to me that CNN could be arrested for instigating violence. I know they were arrested for not obeying police commands to move, but they were also there to stir up more violence and should be charged as such, imo.
A bit off topic here, but one thing I want to know is how many times the MSM used the word riot since this all began. My bet is all of the media combined used the word riot combined than Fox.
“They were arrested and that equals racism?”
The conventional definition of racism has been long lost. It’s merely a catch-all word today for anything the left does not like. Today’s use of the word has little to do with actual discrimination.
It would be nice if someone in authority would confront CNN and ask them to explain just why they think their crew was discriminated against in terms of how the law actually applies. This will happen when Hell freezes over.
On the way from Atlanta to Savannah, Sherman was told there was a mine field
ahead. He called forward several rebel captives. He ordered them to walk the mine field. He said they’d find them. They did, problem solved.
Too bad the cops didn’t handcuff them and hold them down with a knee to the neck.
Democrat controlled State. Democrat controlled City. Democrat controlled Town. Democrat controlled police force arrests Democrat controlled propaganda arm reporting on Democrat brown shirts sacking the Democrat city.
Meanwhile Democrat defense attorney for the police says the police won’t be charged because no crime was committed.
And who are all of them blaming today?
Trump.
Wake up America. The war is here.
CNN had a Jayson Blair? who protected Saddam.
