...Now, the good news. When Asch allowed subjects to take the test on paper instead of saying their choice out loud in front of the group normative conformity dropped to virtually zero. This means that a great deal of those that are seemingly being swept away by our current cultural unrest dont actually believe the things they are saying. The social pull of virtue signaling may be powerful enough to elicit public responses from the battered, but it is not powerful enough to rattle their private convictions. (This is, I believe, one of the reasons why much of public polling is so unreliable: many of the polled tell pollsters what they think they want to hear, or they simply hang up). Whats more, Asch found that the power of the group dynamic is more fragile then one might imagine. When subjects were given an ally, a single person that broke away from the group and agreed with the subject, conformity plummeted. It seems that much of the power of the group lies in the perception that the group is completely unified. The first person to stand up against the group punctures their unanimity, rendering the group vulnerable to criticism and defections...

Look when you got MILLIONS of kids and young adults out of WORK and out of SKOOL we now have the Land of the Fleas. And until this BS is over it will remain so, so buckle up and make sure all is in working order!
This is exactly what I’ve taught my kids: Don’t be afraid to be the one who asks a question, because chances are lots of others have the same question and will be glad you took the lead. And what do you know — many times they told me, after school so-and-so thanked me for being “the one who asked.”. This pertains to so many areas in life.
well also if you put your answers on paper, they’re YOUR answers on a tangible sheet of paper
Whats more, there are countless numbers of people that embrace American ideasalbeit silently. These are the people waiting for one person to stand up and puncture the power of the mob. Now, the question becomes: who will stand and who will kneel?
Good question. Nothing in between the standing and kneeling is acceptable.
“...Now, the question becomes: who will stand and who will kneel?...”
I’m an American, and Americans don’t kneel.
We jack a round into the chamber and ask the other bastard if he’d like to rephrase the question.
The main problem with asking a question is that sometimes you get to find out just how stupid the teacher really is.
I would tell them to kneel and lick my shoes.
See my tagline.
Haha, yeah, good point. Our intent has been to teach them that sometimes you have to be the one to speak out - whether it’s asking a question in school, saying no to something “everybody else is doing”, etc. And to realize they will almost never be the only ones who want to, but somebody has to go first.
