Today is Beauregard’s last stand. – Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, the former do-nothing Attorney General who allowed Rod Rosenstein and Robert Mueller to run the Department of Justice for two solid years, makes his last stand today in Alabama. He trails opponent Tommy Tuberville by a wide margin in the polling leading into today’s GOP primary runoff election to determine which Republican gets to run Democrat Doug Jones out of the U.S. Senate.

I think it’s safe to say the Sessions decision to recuse himself was the absolute worst decision made by anyone during the Trump era.
Mr. Sessions is finished. He showed his true colors as AG and was a dismal failure. What do the good people of Alabama need from him, in retrospect what does he have to offer. Nothing.
I hope and pray to God, Almighty...that not one Alabama Republican casts his or her vote for “Traitor” “Turncoat”, Weak Sister, Mitt Romney Double, Jeff Sessions. Sessions must be defeated and returned to forever oblivion in a contaminated Garbage Bin in “Hell” with SATAN!!!

Thanks for a very useful compilation of Fauci-gate. Sometimes I feel like a voice crying in the wilderness while all around me I hear that Fauci is a preeminent scientist and he should be running the COVID response. Your work provides a lot of ammunition and debunking of the Fauci myth.

I too was extremely disappointed in Sessions. I think he trusted the “professionals” at DOJ and he allowed himself to be sidelined for the coup attempt in much the same way that Pence and the White House got played on Flynn - i.e. - “OMG, Flynn said something different that we leaked to the NYT than what Pence said on the Sunday news shows!”
Being a Senator, he just did not see what was unfolding because they are the trusting sort and are all very worried what the beltway mediots think of them. Recusing yourself because you were at a party with the same Russian Ambassador everyone else was is an example of what is wrong with the GOPe. The fact that many republicrats also called for him to recuse himself is proof that the uniparty was all in on the coup at the outset.
It was and still is infuriating to watch. NO cabinet level appointee should recuse themself without seeing clear and obvious proof of the need again. Ever. This is how the swamp sabotaged the outset of the Trump presidency. In hindsight, Christie would have been the best choice. They played the same game on him with Bridgegate and his comments from afar about it ended up being spot on even as I am not the biggest fan of him.
Here is a simple fact - the special counsel would never have happened if Trump had a sharp AG. Never. There was NEVER proof of collusion - it was a fairytale. I hope people remember the lesson, but the damage was done by Sessions and the GOPe Senate.
