In ice hockey, icing is an infraction when a player shoots the puck over the centre red line and the opposing team’s red goal line, in that order, and the puck remains untouched without scoring a goal. It is not icing if the puck enters the goal, even if it was shot from behind the centre line.
“Both my boys played hockey, one as a goalie.
Hockey gear is expensive!”
It really is.
Up here we have a 30+ league, for men. Every year they donate their son’s used uniforms, skates, helmets and goalie gear for kids without tons of money who want to play. It’s a really nice thing they do.
Denis Lemieux: Well, um, icing happen when the puck come down, bang you know, before the other guys you know. Nobody there, you know. My arm go comes up then the game stop then start up.
Jim Carr: I see. What is high-sticking?
Denis Lemieux: High-sticking happen when the guy take the stick, you know, and he go like that.
[high-sticks Jim Carr]
Denis Lemieux: you know. You dont do that.
Jim Carr: You dont do that?
Denis Lemieux: Oh no, never, never.
Jim Carr: Why not?
Denis Lemieux: Against the rules. You know, youre stupid when you do that. Just some English pig with no brains, you know.
Jim Carr: Uh, what is slashing?
Denis Lemieux: Slashing is um, like that.
[demonstrates on Jim Carr]
Denis Lemieux: You know.
Jim Carr: Mm-hmm. And theres a penalty for that?
Denis Lemieux: Yeah and for the trip also, you know like that.
[demonstrates]
Denis Lemieux: . And for hook like this.
[demonstrates]
Denis Lemieux: . And for spear, you know, like that.
[demonstrates]
Denis Lemieux: You do that, you go to the box, you know. Two minutes, by yourself, you know and you feel shame, you know. And then you get free.
Nothing But A**holes are Sportsball ghetto trash.
One team is mostly white and the other black.
There's a great video on youtube showing the start of an NHL game in Canada against a US team.At the start of all NHL "international" games the national anthems of both nations is sung.On this particular occasion the singer's microphone died halfway through the Star Spangled Banner.
After a few seconds of silence the Canadian crowd picked up from where the sound gave out and finished out anthem.
A very moving event...IMO.
Sorry, I was not firing on all 8 when I posted the last one. That was describing offside.
Icing is when the puck travels across the center line and the defensive blue line and the goal line (not into the net) and a defending player touches said puck before an attacking player can get to that puck.
That brings the puck back to the offending team’s zone for a face-off.
Go Stars!
There are several black hockey players.
In that picture in the OP, they were NOT standing FOR the anthems, they were standing FOR BLM during the anthems. The Pens/Flyers did this too.
CBSBoston - “ The Boston Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets sent a message of unity Thursday night, linking arms and forming a circle during the American and Canadian national anthems ahead of their exhibition game in Toronto.
In a statement earlier this week, the Bruins indicated that they would lock arms during the anthems to support the Black Lives Matter movement.”

BLM and the whole social justice movement is anti-American from it’s premise. Why people think that this is somehow better than kneeling escapes me.
... Its actually LESS complicated than it sounds. Really.....
I think I understand why it is a rule. Defense would clear the puck at every opportunity. Icing forces them to play defense.
You really think all hockey players are from Canada? Come on, pull your head out.
OK, who are these kneelers submitting to when they kneel for the National Anthem?”
False gods? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amorites#/media/File:Worshipper_Larsa_Louvre_AO15704.jpg
The road to the NHL is tough, real tough and so are the players. Unlike the NBA or NFL where the players are coddled from high school thru college.......
Grant Fuhr, hall of famer...
Those were scrimmages.
The Rangers and Hurricanes are playing right now and they stood on their respective blue lines for the anthems.
I understand the reasoning behind doing the kumbaya at first to placate the monsters who would slash and burn.
