As a veteran, if you wont respect the nation, its flag, and the anthem, then I wont respect you. The disrespect that you show to this nation and the symbols of this nation is directed and me and my service.

I willing served this nation for almost seven years. That is twice as long as the average NFL player’s career. I have endured heat, separation from my family, sleep deprivation, hunger, illness, cold, loss of friends and personal injury. Often being paid a substance salary. These players making six and seven figures then turn around and disrespect my nation and my service. Screw them.

As long as professional sports allows its players to disrespect my service and my country, I will not watch, purchase their memorabilia or follow / celebrate in any way. I now only watch the NHL.

Your post breaks my heart and as a common citizen am very angry to see all veterans subjected to this! My father dedicated the rest of his life to serving his fellow veterans once he survived WW2 and made that promise to his dying buddies. In my 68 years I never miss attending Memorial Day services, Veterans Day services or celebrating on Independence Day. Thanks goes to you, sir. Thank you for willingly choosing to serve. Thank you for caring about protecting your country. The thing is you never ask for my thanks nor do you implore to have the limelight. You sir are the genuine American. The stuff of which heroes are made. A mostly grateful nation is indebted to you.
