The group Student Solidarity at OSU argued that the incident was not a hate crime, as racial slurs directed toward White people “are not based on a history of violence & oppression towards White people.”..

OSU should get a letter from the Department of Education clearly stating that ALL races, religions and genders can both carry out and be victims of hate crimes. That no one is exempt based on their ancestry, skin color, faith or gender, and it is those who say that there are such people who are exempt from being offenders or victims who are themselves unfairly prejudiced and bigoted.
