If You Believe in Science, Individual Freedom Is the Only Answer
American Greatness ^ | 02/17/2021 | John Conlin

So you believe in science, eh? Excellent! So do I! Well, let me clarify. I don’t “believe” in science; I accept there is reality and this “science-way” of thinking has proven itself the best method for discovering this reality. What you or I believe has no impact on this reality.

And what of this reality? How can we discover it to ensure our continued success and even our continued survival?

I don’t believe in anything that can’t also be disproved.

That which cannot be measured does not matter.

“Faith” is fine, many wise people have a belief in things unseen, but anything not quantifiable, measurable, testable, and predictable should never be the basis for law or government. The nanosecond someone else’s non-quantifiable belief becomes the basis for anything I am required by law or custom to do or not do, I am completely justified in terminating their corporeal existence.

These people are so ridiculous. If "the science" is no longer useful to them they're perfectly capable of doing a 180 and accusing "science" of "reducing human beings to sets of numbers."

Besides, isn't "science" the creation of "dead white males" and "a cultural artifice for perpetuating the patriarchy" ? Seems like they were making that criticism just a few decades ago.

Well, there is truth in this no doubt.

Thomas Sowell covers this well in his many excellent books, and it is why most conservatives believe in the power of “The Invisible Hand” of a market, and all Leftist abhor it and denounce it.

Leftists all believe that putting the 12 smartest people into an office together and putting them in charge of setting prices on everything works better than 12 million uneducated people voting with their dollars to set prices.

Also, I must say that I refuse to accept the “Follow the Science” drone from the same people who refuse to acknowledge that XX chromosomes indicate female, and XY chromosomes indicate male.

Leftists believe in “science” that supports their ideology, and rejects anything that doesn’t.

Science is about skepticism and subjecting a hypothesis to an open scrutiny. That is not what they support, so I don’t even bother having the “discussion” with them.

The swarm will always be far more intelligent than any single individual.

A rioting mob seems to be the opposite.

Eugencis was settled science at one time. Many still believe it.

Then there’s the shrinks with their crazy theories. They claim it’s science but science never entered any psych lab.

a mob is not a swarm. A school of fish, a herd of bison... those are not mobs and don’t behave as such. Neither do people as they go about living their lives

Sometimes we need a leader, sometimes we don't.
Depends on what the situation calls for.
What we don't need is someone to micromanage our lives from afar every day, against our will most of the time.

Attempting to put a boss in charge via the organizations we call government will act as a huge intelligence eraser.

This couldn’t be more spot-on. Just look at how incredibly stupid so many people have become in the last 40 years or so. And there is no better evidence of this, than their response to COVID.
