SHOW LOW, Ariz. - Seven people have been critically injured after being run over by a truck in Show Low, officials confirmed Saturday morning.
Police say a black Ford truck had hit multiple bicyclists in front of the Horne Auto Collision Center during the city's Bike the Bluff road race.
Paramedics transported six people to a local hospital. Four of them are in critical condition, and the other two are critically injured but are in stable condition, police said.
One other bicyclist was airlifted to a hospital in the Phoenix metro area for treatment.

The cyclists ride right in the middle of the road here and the local gov pimps the place as a great place to ride, despite the zillions of blind hills and curves inherent to mountain roads.
Once, while on my Harley, I had to swerve into oncoming traffic when I topped a blind hill to find a half dozen guys riding their bikes in the middle of the road.
I was not crazy about swerving into a line of cars but it was an instant reaction.
I wonder why LE ended up plugging the perp...

I’ve nearly wacked a number of motorcyclists who now seem to like to turn off onto a side road and stop to chat side x side within ~50 ft of the intersection [some are kinda blind turnoffs].
My suggestion: Mopipo; don’t stop in the middle of a road to chit-chat.

While I agree *some* cyclists have good road manner issues this also extends to motorcycle operators….esp those riding Harleys. Seems both feel entitled to be a law unto themselves.
