The Buttigieg presidential buzz has penetrated the White House: At 39, he is the most recognizable and powerful transportation secretary in modern memory. And he wants you to believe his eye isn’t on the future.

Oh, I agree. Why they write these stupid articles is beyond me.

Also, Bob O’Rourke is not Hispanic so it baffles me why he is called Beto.

All government activities are now entered upon a hierarchy upon which they either a: promote the LGBTQ agenda b: promote, reiterate, or otherwise deal with the oppression of blacks, or c: destroy thesovereignty of the US via the erasure of its borders. d: destroy any and all traditions or history of the US as is commonly understood. e: erode the value of the currency under the guise of rebuilding something or other. Every damned news story, every gov’t action.

Puke on all of it.

Democrats are living in fantasyland if they think that Buttgig has a chance at the presidency. His incompetency as Transportation Secretary should dispel that notion. All his opposition needs to do is bring up his absence on paternity leave during the ongoing shipping and transportation crisis and remind the voters that people at that level can’t just take a leave of absence. The POTUS does not get a vacation, he gets time to work away from the White House.

“Most recognizable transportation secretary”?
And that is relevant how?
Who cares about that?

The GOP is probably looking for its own homosexual candidate so they can claim that the Democrats are the REAL homophobes.

YES!

He was most recognized for taking two months of paternity leave to breastfeed his newborn, abopted baby. That’ll play well on the road to the White House won’t it?

“Most recognizable transportation secretary in modern history???? That’s not much of an accomplishment.”

He demonstrated his undeniable competency and power by abandoning his job in the middle of a national crisis and not even bothering to tell anyone or to put someone in charge. /s

Is there anyone in Biden’s cabinet that is not a sick joe?

Andrew Cuomo was the most recognizable HUD cabinet secretary.

I work professionally in transportation infrastructure and I could only name four Secretaries of Transportation. In “modern memory,” they are invariably nothing more than useless bureaucrats who are barely employable outside of politics.

If I was the President of the United States I would have a set of minimum qualifications for the Secretary of Transportation. He would have to be a civil engineer licensed in multiple states, and with a minimum of 25 years experience in managing major infrastructure projects.

Putting a liberal arts doofus in charge of the U.S. Department of Transportation is like hiring an interior decorator as the Attorney General.

And Pena was the Transporation Secretary when a ValueJet airliner crashed into the Everglades in 1996.

The first thing that Pena did was declare that ValueJet was safe to fly.

Pena was out soon after. He was moved to the Energy Sec spot in 1997 when Hazel O'Leary resigned for abusing her travel budget and spending funds to study unfriendly media. Pena then resigned in 1998, being replaced by Bill Richardson, who then had to deal with the Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory spying scandal that apparently began on Pena's watch.

ValueJet became AirTran, and AirTran was eventually sold to Southwest.
