"After deliberation over many weeks and a thorough analysis of the entirety of Urban's tenure with our team, I am bitterly disappointed to arrive at the conclusion that an immediate change is imperative for everyone," owner Shad Khan said in a statement. "I informed Urban of the change this evening. As I stated in October, regaining our trust and respect was essential. Regrettably, it did not happen.

Meyer's only season with the Jaguars wasn't very good on the field -- the team went 2-11, its 10th season with double-digit losses in the past 11 years -- but issues off the field are what doomed him. From hiring a strength and conditioning coordinator who had been accused of making racist remarks and bullying Black players, to a video of Meyer with a woman who was not his wife at a bar, to tension between Meyer and his staff and players, there was dysfunction almost from the moment Meyer was hired.

A. God doesn’t think he’s Urban Meyer
That's what you get for citing "health issues" to get out of your contract with the Florida Gators, just to go back to your home state of Ohio.

He’ll be in South Bend within two years.
Well, Saban washed out in the NFL, too. But I think that was more on Dolphins’ management (an oxymoron if there ever was one) than on Saban.
Seems like Urban would be the perfect coach for the Raiders franchise...Al Davis would’ve hired him already, but his sons are trying to be more corporate. It’s not like there are any distractions in Las Vegas to get Urban in trouble.
He did sign Tim Tebow, he was one the first players cut in training camp
“This would not have happened if Urban Meyer had signed Tim Tebow. “
Yes. After that the WokESPN went after him on a daily basis. Another Woke takedown.
I wish Jax continued stellar losing seasons.
I don't see how Florida fans can complain - he won two national championships in six years. (Which is twice as many as they won in their entire existence before that.) I think that's unheard of.
Admittedly, not a huge Urban Meyer’s fan, but be assured, he will be back in college football in no time.
Urban really went to town.
Trevor Lawrence: Constant drama around Jaguars needs to change
“Obviously there’s been a lot of drama,” Lawrence said. “Like, whatever has caused everything, who even knows at this point, but there’s been a lot of drama and for me I think it’s important to be truthful. But with that, you can’t say everything that’s on your mind. You have to have a filter and you’ve got to be careful.
“I have a lot of appreciation for all those guys in there that have been working to try to get this thing right and it hasn’t been easy. So I have a lot of appreciation for the players, for the coaches, for everybody. … Obviously you can’t, like I said, always say exactly what’s on your mind, but the truth is in there somewhere always with me, so that’s what I try to do.”

Tebow did sign a one year veteran minimum pay contract. Every player in training camp signs some kind of contract.
However, in training camp, veterans only get paid around $2,000 a week, so Tebow got around $8,000 for a month of work.
He would have been paid $55,000 a week if he had survived to the regular season.
He did sign him just didn’t keep him.
Think just for a minute. Successful college coach. Waits for the best offer($$$). Falls flat on his face very fast(1st year) and collects all the money from his 5 year contract. Pretty smart wouldn’t you say? Now he can hang out at the night clubs with the young chicks.
Well there goes my almost sure thing under bet every week!
I don't follow pro football enough to know or care about urban meyers or shad khan or the QB that needs a haircut in Jax, but I agree with your premise.
If the Jags had been 11-2 instead of 2-11, meyers could have boffed that woman on the dance floor, and kahn would have given him a bonus.
All of this righteous indignation is as real as the KKK demonRATs with their love of the black man.
The team sucked, the coach is a jerk but was a winner in college, and that did not translate quickly enough to the pros to suit the owner...bye, bye Mr. Coach.
But, when the team or an executive announces that a specific person has been signed, they obviously mean someone they expect to be playing in the regular season.
Tebow's contract had NO guarantees.
The only beneficiary of the contract was Jacksonville, which had the option to hold on to Tebow if he played better than expected.
