WV Coal Miner: ‘The Things We Do in This State Really Drive This Nation Far More Than Someone Like Bette Midler’

After entertainer Bette Midler called West Virginians “poor, illiterate and strung out,” a coal miner from that state responded by saying West Virginians contribute far more to America than anything she does – and that many West Virginians would even be better at doing her job.

In an interview on Fox & Friends First on Wednesday, coal miner Bo Copley said that West Virginians aren’t losing any sleep over Midler’s insult, especially since her career has been at a standstill for a while now:

“I think my first reaction was, ‘Bette Who?’ I don’t really recall anything that she’s done too significant here in the last little bit.

“I don’t think a lot of West Virginians are losing sleep over it. The only thing to lose sleep over is getting up early and heading out and going to work.”

And, while the things Hollywood’s liberal elites say get a lot of attention, West Virginians know that they’re doing more to drive the nation forward than entertainers like Midler, Copley said:

“It does get tiresome. They have the platforms. They’re the people that can get their tweets read and for people react to. But, honestly, we know, deep in our hearts, the things that we do here in this state really drive this nation far more than someone like Bette Midler or Hollywood liberal elitists.”

What’s more, Copley said, there are plenty of people in West Virginia talented enough to do Midler’s job better than she does it:

“The way I look at it, I’m sure there are way more people in this state that could do her job than any of these jobs that she can possibly do.

“So, I would throw that gauntlet down and say, ‘You come to do what we do and see how well you do at it, or give us a chance to do what you do.’

“And, I promise you, we could do better at what she does.”

Midler slurred West Virginians Monday in a tweet calling them “poor, illiterate and strung out” – and said that Sen. Manchin (D-WV) wants to turn all Americans into the same type of poor, strung-out illiterates.

Hollyweird keeps digging themselves deeper and deeper; no wonder all their films lately have bombed.

“I don't think a lot of West Virginians are losing sleep over it”.

That's all that needs to be said.

Obama used to wag his finger and tell conservatives “You didn’t build that”. Actually, yes we did, not non-working politicians who’ve never worked for a paycheck in their life.

They have felt the response pretty badly. Disney actually made an un-woke film Spiderman: No Way Home. And Ghostbusters: Afterlife was great. Aaron Sorkin resisting the weird and the woke.
Maybe they’re feeling the pushback in the board rooms?

Classic think it, don’t say it.

Elitist morons all think this way about everyone not just West Virginians.

Bette said the quiet part out loud. She broke protocol.

In her circle of retards, this attitude would be met with applause and adulation. In the public, she exposed them all.

If you think she is apologizing to West Virginia, you can’t begin to imagine the tear-filled apologies she is offering to the powers that be in the deep state hierarchy.

Her handlers are working 24/7 to clean this up.

I’ve seen article after article over days now of Bette insincerely apologizing.

It’s bad. ...which makes me very happy!

Suffer btch.

Joe Manchin is giving his voters what they elected him to do. Taking care of their needs and that of the US citizenry as a whole. A rare show of courage and statesmanship for any person who has a lot to lose politically.

I appreciate his putting a stop to a treasonous bill that the communist democrat party had gone overboard with in trying to legislate into law numerous destructive programs that would destroy this Republic.

I am well acquainted with family and friends in, and from, Kentucky and WV. You have certainly gotten to the heart and spirit of those fellow Americans who live there. Good, honest and patriotic people.

Drugs etc are so prevalent in most states, especially in Midlers line of work....but not in WV.

Midler is typical of uninformed, ignorant, media promoted commie shills who spew out whatever gets attention that promotes their anti American agenda.

God bless Senator Manchin and West Virginia’s citizens.

H/t mountainfolk

Isn’t someone who used to be popular still considered to be a “gas been”?

Born in Hawaii, Midler became a victim early on.......as a Jew living among Asians.

She began singing in the Continental Baths, a gay bathhouse in the Ansonia Hotel, NYC, in the summer of 1970. During this time, she became close to her piano accompanist, Barry Manilow, who produced her first album in 1972, The Divine Miss M.

It was during her time at the Continental Baths that she built up a core following. In the late 1990s, during the release of her album Bathhouse Betty, Midler commented on her time performing there, “Despite the way things turned out [with the AIDS crisis], I’m still proud of those days. I feel like I was at the forefront of the gay liberation movement, and I hope I did my part to help it move forward. So, I kind of wear the label of ‘Bathhouse Betty’ with pride.”

Yeah. Ghostbusters 2016 was a total garbage and gets no acknowledgment from Afterlife. That is another reason to like it.

They are desperate to be pertinent. Nobody really cares what they think and they now get little attention.
