If you are arriving this late to the idea of food storage, plant a garden this spring! Grow food in pots and seed save for season to season.

Very frankly: I think we have built a bad world. I want it to collapse. We need to get rid of central control and oligarchic rule from the top. Take power away from these people — they don’t do good things with it. Subsidiarity: no larger unit (whether social, economic, or political) should perform a function which can be performed by a smaller unit.

I certainly hope not. This can easily be averted with a good combination of strength AND compromise.
I don’t know how anyone could look at the trajectory of events and the lunatic behavior of leadership in the west over the past several years and not agree that, if not their conscious intent, it’s looking as though this essay’s conclusion will be the actual result.
