Prepping is all about put up essential and life saving goods for survival, overcoming "normalcy bias", and during surplus, being not dependent on others. or government largess.
Hoarding is buying more than your needs, not a survival issue, and counting on its value to increase (ie: alcohol, soap, sanitizer, etc., etc.) which causes a shortage for others.
It takes a crook to catch a crook.
Inflation is not based on shortages. It’s based on massive overprinting of fiat currency and handing it out free to everyone and anyone. Inflation *causes* shortages in goods with actual value because suddenly, everyone can by them.
So many of these types and thier devotees confuse supply chain imbalances and demand/supply price increases with monetary inflation increases. It is a mix of both.
Plenty of genuine lunatics on FR are pushing for WW3 over Ukraine.

I don’t know a lot about him, or the case against him.
Although, I do know that he served 7 years for contempt of court, the longest serving contempt charge in federal history.
He then entered into a plea deal on a single charge of fraud, that was supposed to get him out of jail with time served. However, when he went to court, the judge wouldn’t allow time served, and he spent 5 more years in jail.
I don’t know if he was guilty or not, and I don’t even care enough to look up all the details. However, it’s definitely possible the government railroaded him, just like he has always claimed.
I would personally encourage all on this site who want a war with Russia to immediately travel to Poland and cross into Ukraine and volunteer to fight the Russians.
The quicker these zealots join Ukraine’s fighters, the quicker they will become cannon fodder and never be around to lecture us again.

I can’t imagine over 3 billion dead the first 30 minutes of nuclear war. The USA and Russia will launch over 2,000 warheads each other, not to mention Europe, China, the Middle East, and India/Pakistan. This will not be a war against 2 nations. It will involve the globe, either directly or the aftermath. Nobody wins a nuclear war.
Wars are started by madmen. Men with power driven rage. History is full of carnage and chaos for over 10,000 years. I want a better world for my children and grandchildren. Not destroy it.
It’s becoming quite clear. IMHO...the internet “shrunk the world” and it’s enabled consolidated power. The notion of centralized power, economies, etc. is a dinosaur and is proven to always be corrupt. We must find a way to decentralize everything.
The problem today, with the centralization that has occurred, is that there’s not a single entity but, instead, a few very powerful entities...and they don’t get along. They’re playing for all the marbles so something has to give...and it will have massive consequences for all of us.
It appears inevitable, predictable, and Biblical.
