Food Price Inflation Continues to Worsen. Here’s What Should Be Done About It.

Who will do the work? People who get hungry enough if working is the only way to eat.

People adapt to a change in environment. When the welfare state was introduced over half a century ago, people didn't change overnight. In time our culture has changed to where there are lots of people who expect money for nothing and chicks for free.

If we get rid of the welfare state people will adapt again to working for their food like before. It's amazing what people will do to keep from starving.

If you think a ghettopatomas and mr thug life are going to go pick fields and do slaughterhouse, feedlot and other farm work in fly over country you are delusional. They will burn down the cities and move into the suburbs first. Sure some in the suburbs have safe queens that might finally come out to be used but the collapse would take the whole nation down. Given what I have seen of the “militia” I’d give a 50/50 odds they get wiped out by a hoard of dindus all well armed look at chiraq,Baltimore or L.A. they know how to shoot too and have little qualms about doing it. They whole purpose of the modern welfare system is to keep the ferals placated and not roving looking for loot,food and booty. The answer is to encourage productive work but just turning off the gravy train is a recipe for a Kosovo style conflict. The Serbs were only a few percentage of that conflict yet managed to.do a bang up.job of genocide and crashing a country to ruins.

Consider the following as a “possible” option.

Create a program to first develop and then encourage farmers to grow their own bio-diesel fuel using bio-algae. I envision a pond or container based production of an algae like spirulina. After harvest of the algae, the oil extracted, residue used as animal feed or made into human consumables. Oil can then be made into bio diesel. The residual algae product (Spirlina) can be sold to market and/or developed as feed and sold.

I can see a market structure where farmers grow and harvest the algae, transport to a co-op for processing, a portion goes back to the farmer in the form of bio-diesel to run their farm equipment. Excess oil / bio-diesel gets sold into the diesel market. Profits from the bio-diesel and Spirulina sales cover the Co-op expenses and excess profits are returned to the farmers.

This system would have the effect of reducing the volatility of oil market swings, provide a potential source of income to rural farmers, and allow farmers to continue farming, even in the face of a fuel shortage.

Cartons of std. 1 doz. large eggs had been holding out at our local ALDI @ $1.19 until last week. (As you may recall we have chickens of our own, but I kinda watch ALDI’s as they are the lowest price in our area.)

But, now the std. carton is up to $2.19 @ Aldi.

I also saw a report that Russia may have taken out the last bridge to an open port city in Ukraine.
