In my many years in the corporate environment I was able to witness why people were fired and then compare it with what they said they were fired for. Offhand I can’t think of any matchups. People tend to lie about why they were fired.
I don’t think Lara Logan was lying about why she was fired.
Companies tend to lie about why they are firing employees.
If a termination letter is issued, the reason adduced for the termination, fairly considered and interpreted, will, by and large, be pretextual.
