This was done by the administrative state not the legislature. This will also impact availability of cars for the whole country. WE are almost at the stage where voting doesn’t matter.

Well, that will kill most of commercial business that depends on interstate transportation, where most vehicles coming from other states won’t be allowed into California.

Transportation will be one-way: out of California.

What? The flood of Californians leaving the state isn’t big enough? Seems like the state is heading for three classes of people: 1) Wealthy Tesla owners 2) Illegals 3) Homeless living in tents. This ought to be all the proof many will need to finally make the decision gtfo of Cali.

What a load of crap. California has Bumpkiss for a power grid and can[’t support electric cars.

That means only those earning more than 300 grand a year can have them.

And not only that, the rest of the poor peasants will not be allowed to use their gas paowerd older vehicles. So the peasantry will not ever be mobile again. Freedom of movement will be restricted. And the peasants will have to use mass transit.

So much FUN living in a commie 3rd world country.

Workers of the World! UNTIE!

Too bad probably no company in the right mind would want to build the means to supply those EVs with electricity.

I suggest donkey carts painted in Mexican style colors and pulled by Democratic politicians to get around.

Before Kalifornia Governor Grey Davis was recalled, he and the democRATS in the Kalifornia Legislature mandated that 10% of all cars sold in Kalifornia be electric. This was years before Tesla, 2002,2003. So... When it became obvious that there was no way to make people purchase something, and the number of electric cars actually sold was no where near 10%, Governor Davis ‘bought’ (with other people’s money, taxes) enough electric cars to state that the 10% goal was accomplished. Kind of like the old Soviet 5 year plans, where they altered the plan, or just plain lied, to state ‘success.’

Also, they keep bragging about faster and faster charging stations, and faster charging times. The faster one charges present day batteries, shorter the overall life span of the battery.

what happens to businesses that are not on a bus route

or near a train/subway station?

sometimes i just feel like they have not thought this through

California is going to commit “suicide by EV”, and they want to take all of us with them. Like the heathen kings of old, who had their wives and children killed and buried with them.

First it will be sale, then it will be importation, then finally possession. They already prohibit purchase of ammo out of state.

"California set to BAN the sale of all new gasoline cars"

I expect california thieves to be coming up with some really imaginative ways to steal electricity.

California is repeating history.

In 1990 CARB mandated that 2% of vehicles had to be zero emission by 1998.

5% by 2001
10% by 2003

It was an absolute failure.

This is just political optics. It only impresses people who don’t think logically.
