“Moving those elite troops into a pocket that is basically cut off and in the process of being surrounded is a very dangerous bet”.

I thought about that also. It may put them in a pincer situation. However I believe the Uke’s have @ 3 to 1 manpower advantage as they are on a full war footing as opposed to the Russians. So I believe they can probably protect their flanks. We shall see.

Why don’t you start a ping list, and more easily place this in the forum for those interested? I don’t care about this war, and this thread you run constantly is more of a spam than news story. There is much more news than the proxy war the WEF is fighting to subsume Russia.

No, I’m talking about the Russian elite troops that have been moved in to defend the salient across the river in Kherson. With the bridges out they cannot easily get reinforcements or ammo, and the Ukrainians have begun to cross the river behind them to try to surround that pocket completely, which, if successful, will probably result in a rout and surrender of the troops in the pocket, unless they can break out.

The big chatter (unconfirmed rumors) for today is as follows:

The Russian 3rd Army Corps is being partially deployed to Ukraine right now.

Average estimates of 8,000 troops on the move would appear to be reliable.

The 3rd Army Corps is deploying with thirty to forty year old equipment that has been recently serviced and made adequate for action.

Indications of exactly how the 3rd will be deployed are apparently the source of much conflict between the Red Army leadership and the Kremlin.

Leadership on the ground in Ukraine wants these new and inexperienced forces deployed as replacements who will take up positions with more experienced troops.

Leadership on the ground in Ukraine also covets the fresh equipment of the 3rd Army Corps to replace losses for front-line units.

Kremlin leadership wants the 3rd Army Corps to deploy as cohesive units to prevent the low morale of veteran combat units from affecting the new troops. This move will lead to degraded veteran units eventually being combined or subsumed into other units with deleterious impacts on the careers of the officers whose units are disbanded.

3rd Army Corps is composed of troops with a reported average age of 36. Some troops are reportedly in their sixties.

NATO analysis of the 3rd Army Corps is that if it deploys as a cohesive entity it will likely be used to hold and defend positions which will free up veteran combat units for offensive operations.

That is all.

“Look - this is no different than if you decided to post George Michael videos 15 times a day. I’m not interested. I do not care. At some point, posters like me are going to call you on it. Sorry.”

FLNittany, if you’re not interested and you don’t care then don’t post in these topics and bump the thread to the top.

Just ignore it and move on to something that does interest you.

Can’t you just not read it?

You complain, but come here to read.

Personally, I only read the threads that interest me.

This daily thread was moved from NEWs to BLOGGERS per FR mod instructions.

Maybe this is an effect of the dictator sidelining his top Military brass, and starting to make the military decisions himself - like Hitler did.

Another similarity between Hitler and Vladolph Putler (who seems to be morphing before our eyes.

Maybe that is why I don’t see it anymore, unless I use the search function.

We are very much using this thread to stay abreast of, and discuss the current news, on the most important conflict in the World today.

Not only is it news, it is arguably the most important news of the day, reshaping the World economically and politically.

It’s an inherent weakness of dictators. They end up getting rid of all the competent people, since competent people both challenge their dictates, and can pose a threat to their control. Then they are left surrounded by fawning incompetents, and when they get rid of all of them for their incompetence, they are left alone.

That would be all three regiments of the 7th Airborne. They used to be the best of the best according to the Russians. Heavy losses in Feb destroyed them until now.

“That would be all three regiments of the 7th Airborne. They used to be the best of the best”

But they had their butts handed to them recently around Kyiv, so the prospect of defeat and withdrawal must be very real to them - especially as their requests for Artillery and Air Support fail to come through.

There is the possibility that things might break quickly at some point, if a few things give way. Those Russian forces are in a bad position, because of the River.

It might be a trap.

If those forces collapse/retreat/surrender, some folks will more seriously consider taking a shot at Putin.

Following the largest European war since WWII and one in which we are heavily supporting the country being invaded, as is the rest of our NATO alliance, and as our sons and daughters stationed on the borders of this Russian invasion stand ready to defend themselves, is important to many of us here at FR.

People should not click on and become spamming commenters and hikackers on threads that they are not interested in.

“To unblock the AFU units, 12 tanks supplied to the Kiev regime by Poland were transported across the Ingulets River.

Some of the tanks were destroyed by the powerful fire action of the Russian troops. Several tanks were blown up in their minefield during a disorderly withdrawal. Only five Ukrainian tanks were able to break back, deep into the territory controlled by the AFU.

During two days of unsuccessful attacks on Mykolaiv-Krivoy Rog and other directions, Ukrainian troops lost four combat aircraft: two Su-25, one Su-24 and one MiG-29. Three Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters were shot down in the air.

Russian troops destroyed 63 Ukrainian tanks, 59 infantry fighting vehicles, 48 other armored combat vehicles, 14 pickups with heavy machine guns and more than 1,700 Ukrainian servicemen.

........

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 280 aircraft, 151 helicopters, 1844 unmanned aerial vehicles, 371 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4592 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 822 combat vehicles of multiple launch rocket systems, 3360 field artillery guns and mortars, and also 5155 units of special military vehicles.”
