"You would have elections that everybody could be proud of. Because right now this country is a laughingstock all over the world," former president said in an interview with Just the News.
Former President Donald Trump is offering a specific policy prescription for restoring Americans' confidence in elections, saying it is time for states to return to paper ballots and to end no-excuses absentee ballots so that results can be finalized on Election Day and the nation can stop looking like a "laughing stock" to the world.
"I call them the fake vote store. That's the mail in ballots. We shouldn't have mail in ballots, unless somebody's very, very sick or it's military far away," Trump told the Just the News, No Noise television show in a wide-ranging interview aired Wednesday night on the Real America's Voice network.
The former president said the long delays -- sometimes stretching days or a week or more -- before many states finalize election results in close races has shaken America's confidence and created doubt in foreign countries. The delays, he said, are from the prolific use of mail-in ballots in some states that can sometimes be counted several days after the election if they have an Election Day postmark.
"We should go to paper ballots, like they did in France. Thirty-six million people (voted) and they had no disputes. Everyone had paper ballots, and it was one-day voting. They didn't store them over there in the corner, and you see the boxes moving all over the place," he said.
The state "should go to one-day voting. They should go to paper ballots. And you would have elections that everybody could be proud of. Because right now, this country is a laughingstock all over the world. They're laughing at our stupid elections," he added.

I may get cremated for saying this, but if Canada can do it, why can’t we?
One thing I do wonder about is here in az when we vote by mail on the outside of the envelope you must sign it and put your address and phone number. I really do not like that going out in the general mail.
It’s mean to require people to show up on one day and make them use a pen.
Oh, it’s also mean to make them show ID, or even their (gasp) registration card, which they are required to register for and the gov to print out!
Sounds poor.
Democrats would have the usual counter-argument: “That’s Racist!”
And voter ID. Please!
Same in Oregon...and it is the signature they use to confirm with your voter registration...supposedly...no phone nbr required tho..I would just give a wrong one, one digit off.
One day (first Tuesday after the first Monday of November),ID required when registering *and* voting,voter rolls regularly purged,no mail in ballots,no early voting,no vote harvesting.
Now there’s a common sense solution. AT is not a solution if it creates opportunity for cheating.

And so we ask the Democrats why it is racist. They respond, “You can’t expect blacks to be able to fill out paper ballots. It’s too complex for them o understand. And for Hispanics their hands are too unsteady after picking crops all day and cleaning our houses.”
Sure . . . the people who cheated Trump out of 2020 thanks to mail-in “voting” would reverse the very thing that enabled their usurpation.
Being mobility handicapped, I count on going to the county office and voting early. I am physically unable to stand in lines. Better than mail-in, which is obviously too easy the cheat.
This is what he should have been saying from day one. Now, it’ll get lost in all the crap.
It was always racist to say it was racist to expect black people to have IDs.
