Hold Your Head Up! Tuesday was a Bigger Victory for America than We Realize
Flopping Aces ^ | 11-10-22 | Brother Bob

Posted on 11/11/2022 7:46:00 AM PST by Starman417

So there's no misunderstanding, I realize that there is a lot of bad with what happened on Tuesday. I could probably add a few thousand words on top of the excellent piece that Dr. John offered, and I was among the many who stayed up late on Tuesday looking forward to a tsunami of MS-13NBC tears. Obviously, I was disappointed like the rest of us Normals, but a piece by Ace, The Other Side Gets the Ball Too, put things in perspective for me. (emphasis mine)

We got a little self-deluded about abortion having all but vanished as a factor in the race. It didn't.

Abortion was a costly victory. That doesn't mean you don't take the victory; only a GOPe Grifter would say that you perpetually run on an issue and never actually try to win that issue on a policy level.

But winning the issue of abortion, finally, did provoke a powerful backlash from the 40% of the country that considers abortion to be an unholy sacrament.

Just as Obamacare was a costly victory that, from the Democrats' perspective, they absolutely needed to seize and accept the fallout as unavoidable consequences, so too does the GOP have to take the win on abortion, but with the unavoidable consequence of a riled-up leftwing progressive base.

And on that, even though abortion faded as an issue as we got close to election day, millions and millions of votes were cast weeks and even a month before election day. I checked the Pennsylvania mail-in voting rules; the website didn't give a firm date, but it said early voting usually takes place "4-6 weeks" before election day.

So people were casting votes for Fetterneck in the last week of September. When the July-August passions over Dobbs were still hot.

The emphasized part is what changed my thinking. What's the point in legislative victories if they don't lead to significant policy changes? Granted, the overturn of Roe v. Wade came from the Judiciary, but do you think that outcome had a snowball's chance in Hell if Hillary's coronation had been completed? One of my many frustrations about the Trump presidency was how with control of The White House and Congress how little was done in terms of substantial change. Yes, those tax cuts were nice until they got wiped away with the stroke of a pen after the Dems stole a few elections to "fortify" their power back in 2020. McCain's torpedoing of the Obamacare repeal had me cursing at my vote for him in 2008 and the small contributions I sent his campaign back in 2000. But I digress...

So yes, when you get a game changer pushed through there will be a backlash from those who were happy with the previous game. Do you think that the Dems would trade the electoral bloodbath that surrounded it for the passage of Obamacare? Wasn't that supposed to wipe them out for a generation up and down the ticket until... (checks calendar) 2018? So this time we had the unique circumstance of an invalid in the White House whose handlers aren't even trying to hide the fact that they want to destroy America, and on the opposition side a major victory just prior to the election. And even if the red wave wound up as a red trickle, The Radical Left would happily trade results with what we Normals achieved.

Damn straight it was. Not the blockbuster we were led to believe, but a substantial victory in every sense.

If Tuesday was a big victory, I’d like to have a draw next time, or even a loss. Because Tuesday didn’t advance the ball down the field. The whole “Lipstick / pig” thing.

Whatever. It was a freakin disaster. Another election stolen. Senate seats stolen. Now Biden and Schumer can completely fill the federal courts with communists. They can continue weaponizing federal agencies against any non-leftist. And biden “wins” again in 2024 now that he’s locked down the swing states with communist governors to help him cheat again.

It proved that election fraud is pervasive and probably unstoppable by normal means

Michigan will be what it's always been, a battleground.

We have gained in Nevada, Arizona, Florida is no longer a battleground state. Making plenty of progress in areas that were once considered Dem strongholds. Keep marching.

I was always cautiously optimistic about this election. Not nearly as blindly fired up and confident as many were. So, I’m disappointed about the results but not surprised. Feckless GOPers still work with Dims, Dims still cheat their behinds off, a little progress was made. After a few days reflecting, the Republic is not dead, it is on life support with family members gleefully waiting to pull the plug; but there’s a chance yet. Attempting to argue and win over people and vote in 2024 is still gonna happen from me.

Counter offensives happen in war and you will take losses. The war is long and hard but worth fighting.

I see it as a big victory. We paid a price for Roe but that was well worth it. We also won in spite of the the establishment pulling money from races, and making stupid comments like reform medicare and we will vote on a a bill to ban abortions across the country. There is more work to do and the election is not even over to more to come. Praying Keri Lake prevails in AZ

The “Red Tsunami” talk was a setup, to blame Trump if it didn’t happen.

We got played bigtime.

If we don’t take the Senate, it’s a loss.

but some Freepers thought we should have won 200 seats and fell for the MSM propaganda that we “lost”.

Unbelievable.

There was a red wave in some areas, Florida, NY Congressional races, likely Nevada’s Governor and US Senate. If we can get Laxualt and Walker across the finish lines, taking the House and Senate will be red wave enough for now.

Only the media and the Dems and their stupid supporters can exclaim how they won because they beat the non-existent Red wave, and lost the House, and probably the senate and if fact ended the damage Biden can do.

Biden and his Dims have not won the senate by any stretch as of this writing. The GOP has a chance to get 51 seats with Nevada and Georgia still very much in play. Don’t surrender yet.
