Gratitude To Ukraine
substack ^ | 12/11/22 | Timothy Snyder

Posted on 12/11/2022 10:34:29 AM PST by Sunsong

"Debts are awkward, especially debts of gratitude. When we owe others too much, we can find it hard to express our appreciation. If we are not reflective, we might minimize our debt, or simply forget it. If we think highly of ourselves, we might ignore a debt to someone we regard as less important. In the worst case, we can resent the people who have helped us, and portray them in a negative light, just to avoid the feeling that we, too, are vulnerable people who sometimes need a helping hand.

"Americans (and many others) owe Ukrainians a huge debt of gratitude for their resistance to Russian aggression. For some mixture of reasons, we have difficulty acknowledging this. To do so, we have to find the words. Seven that might help are: security, freedom, democracy, courage, pluralism, perseverance, and generosity.

"Perhaps the most important and the most unacknowledged debt is security. Ukrainian resistance to Russia has vastly reduced the chances of major armed conflict elsewhere, and thus significantly reduced the chances of a nuclear war.

"Before this war began, one scenario for a major conventional conflict with nuclear risk was a Russian invasion of a NATO country. Ukrainian resistance has revealed the weaknesses of the Russian armed forces, and destroyed much of Russia's fighting capacity. Thanks to Ukraine, this scenario is far less likely than it was a year ago, and will remain unlikely for years to come.

"The major scenario for global conflict in the twenty-first century was thought to be a Chinese-American confrontation over Taiwan. As a result of Ukrainian resistance, Beijing sees the difficulties it would face in an offensive in Taiwan. The flashpoint of what most analysts regarded as the most likely (or even inevitable) scenario for major war has essentially been removed...continued at link

Yes, get Ukraine all the weapons they need asap!

May it be so!

`````````````````````````````````````````
Assuming not sarcasm. You seem very certain of your position. Can you answer these questions so I might understand your position?
Do we have a treaty with Ukraine?
What is the strategic interest?
Is Ukraine more or less corrupt than Russia?
How many “military advisors” is acceptable on the ground?
Do you support troops in UKraine?
What is your spending limit to how much we give?
Do we even know the total spending so far?
How much more of our weaponry, etc. do we send?
How and when do we replace our stockpiles for if/when we are attacked?
How much higher should inflation go?
How much higher should gas prices go before unacceptable?
How much higher should natural gas and heating oil go?
How does it feel to be on same page with brandon and the media???
Neither Putin or Zelensky (or Biden) are good people.
Putin's invasion for territorial expansion is clearly evil.
What is the strategic interest?
Last year we spent the equivalent of 5% of our military budget on Ukraine, which resulted in the destruction of the russian army as an offensive threat to NATO, with zero loss of our servicemen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well then, NEOCons can be very pleased with themselves... Again, how does it feel to be in agreement with brandon and media?

If we have caused the destruction of Russian army a an offensive threat to NATO, then why do we need to keep sending money and armaments? And Ukraine wants infrastructure money,, but why should send that if we were not defending Ukraine...from what you state, this was all about Russia; we were fighting Russia?

Zero loss of our servicemen, but certainly losses to Ukraine...and Russia. Proxy wars are so “fun.” Kind of like Obama drone strikes...

Many other losses to people in this country due to this brandon instigated war...Shame you cannot see it, and even tho post was NOT to YOU, you did not bother to answer any of the other questions...

Please source your 5% budget...and “destruction of Russian army”

Complete bullcrap. No country has damaged America more than Ukraine in the last decade. They were eyeballs deep in the 2016 pissgate fraud. They hired half of the kids and associates from the Swamp leaders like Pelosi, Romney, Biden, Kerry, etc. They put the Vindman spies in the White House and drove the first impeachment. They sucked probably 100 billion from America. They brought nazism back to Europe. They bribed half of Congress and absolutely poisoned Trump’s attempt to have normal friendly relations with Russia.

And now I am supposed to give that shitty corrupt country my GRATITUDE?

Yes, I have problems with singing virtues of Ukraine...Ironically, I am somewhat familiar with author’s book mentioned...What we don’t understand here in our relatively young country is that these conflicts are decades if not centuries old.

Regarding the Ukrainian dictator, he nationalized the media first thing? lied about false flag rockets? Now may be dictating which churches are allowed? NAZI past? (Yes I know about Stalin and the Ukraine)...
However that Zelensky...Great guy, such a virtuous country—3rd most corrupt on planet, 10% big guy, etc...Oligarachs have pocketed money off shore, and we have helped Russian economy.

I don’t know how much is true (and I am sure you will tell me none of it), but they want more and more money and yet you cannot tell me if or where are the limits.

They are not part of USA, were not part of NATO, this is brandon’s war, and the NEOCONS and defense industry jumped right on...We are approaching $31T in debt on the books—not to mention unfunded...We are not paying for this, we are saddling future generations with unsustainable debt and US will fall due to this out-of-control unnecessary spending.

I am certain you are unmovable, but I wanted to present another side of the virtue coin you are flashing.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Again, how does it feel to be in agreement with brandon and media?

I agree with the incoming House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul, Republican of Texas, who says we 'should heavily arm the Ukrainians'.

but certainly losses to Ukraine.

Obviously, its up to the Ukrainians, and with their ferocious fighting, they are showing their determination to free their land of Russian occupiers.

Incoming House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul, Republican of Texas, enthusiastically supports continuing to aid Ukraine in its hard-fought war against Russia.

"I think going with the amount of investment we've had is very small relative to destroying the Russian military," he told CBS News in an interview Friday. "And that's what we've done without one American soldier being attacked, killed or in country. To me, that's a pretty good investment."

Asked if he would favor more heavily arming the Ukrainians to bring the war to a faster conclusion, McCaul responded, "100% because the longer you drag this out, the more bloodshed."

Ties between cryptobank scam FTX, Dems and Ukraine need to be investigated
Fox News ^ | 11/14/2022 | Fox News Staff
Posted on 11/15/2022, 10:00:43 AM by Trump20162020

This is bigger than Bernie Madoff, but unlike Bernie Madoff, who was getting rich off a Ponzi scheme, the Democratic Party was getting rich off of FTX.

FTX came onto the scene in 2019, and it spent $10 million to put Joe Biden in the White House in 2020.

And the guy running FTX, the second-biggest Democrat donor in the midterms after Soros, of course, spent $40 million to get Democrats elected.

FTX bankruptcy judge HEARD that the company
was being “run as a personal fiefdom of Sam Bankman-Fried.”

<><>a “substantial amount” of FTX Group’s assets “have either been stolen or are missing.”
<><>unclear whether the “substantial amounts” were stolen or mishandled or are in Ukraine
<><>includes several billion in combined loans that GF-run Alameda Research reportedly made to SBF, two of his deputies, and a company majority-owned by him; or are separate from them.
<><>SBF also raised $420 million from investors on behalf of FTX —
<><>only he paid himself $300 million of that amount, claiming it as a personal reimbursement for re-purchasing the 15% stake in the exchange held by rival company Binance.

The court has been told FTX has 36 banks and more than 200 bank accounts.....
....how many in Ukraine?.........

FTX is at least a candidate for biggest money scandal in the history of the world. And FTX, Ukraine, and the de-MoKKKer-Rat party are absolutely and totally joined at the hips.

If you support Ukraine, you also support gangsterism, “corruption on an industrial scale” (as the German news mag Die Welt puts it), and the US demokkkrat party.

Our US taxpayer dollars at work, while many in the US and the West continue to turn a blind eye to the obvious...

“#Ukrainian Nazi in 2015 reveals #Kiev regime plan - #Donbass is overly populated with useless people and is sitting on rich resources. In order to exploit those resources 1.5 million #Donbass people have to be exterminated.”
