Even in circumstances when there might appear to be little doubt about the individual's gender, stating preferred pronouns is a clear signal of contemporary virtue. Now God themself, it seems, is not to be found wanting in this regard.
The Church of England is planning a review of "gendered language" in its texts and services, and among the proposals reportedly being considered is the removal of the words "Our Father" from the Lord's Prayer. Some members of the Anglican clergy are uncomfortably refering to God as he/him, particulary in prayers seeking forgiveness, and are seeking non-gendered alternatives.
In reality, this should not present a serious obstacle. As Christian churches share the belief that there are three persons in the One God, arguably the texts should have been using the popular "woke" alternative, they/them, all along.

“God themself” could refer to the Trinity. (But don’t tell the wokies that; they would freak out if they thought the Bible might agree with them, or they might agree with the Bible.)
Genesis 1:26a “Then God said, ‘Let US make man in OUR image, according to our likeness.”
God will not be mocked. He may allow those who thumb their noses at the God of the Bible to do so for their entire lives, but during judgement day, when they stand fzce to face with him, they will find out the truth about that fact znd whay it means for their eternity.
The true God is watching and He knows that the Church of England is now taking His name in vain. England...beware!
