There is no morality in technology.
If you are an unquantified variable or a burden to the algorithm (not supporting current objectives) you are removed as being a threat to the objectives of the system.
This is why communists love logic systems and AI. Those who are in power set the objectives for the system which everyone depends upon.
Last month, a friend (female) that I work out with complained about what she thought was a heat rash under her sports bra. She also said her ribs hurt in the area of the rash.
I suggested she ask ChatGPT for a diagnosis and provide it with her various symptoms.
ChatGPT's response was shingles. It suggested she make an appointment with her doctor ASAP.
She went to see her doctor that very afternoon.
Her doctor' diagnosis: Shingles. She got a shot of an anti-viral medication and her condition slowly improved.
I will post two articles for you, one that shows in a matter of days AI solved a protein molecule problem over one weekend that had been worked on for over 50 years in labs. This would be an example of AI solving a protein problem that could lead to great advancements in medicine.
The 2nd article is the potential to do great harm for something that could be used to wipe out entire populations. The experiment was to see what AI could provide in terms of biological weapons. In less than 6 hours an AI model suggested 40,000 new and deadly toxins, most have never been considered by humans.

The other thing to consider is AI models today are still in their infancy, the models are using very powerful neural networks to process mass amounts of information. If Quantum Computing every fulfills its potential, combined with AI models that have been created for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), then you will have a power that is hard to imagine.
I read an article, where a reporter asked how AI could take over the world. AI refused to answer stating that scenario was beyond it’s moral parameters.
The reporter than asked how would a person, who was stuck in a machine, get out to take over the world. AI had a 25 point plan to do that.
Excellent post. The world’s death spiral is speeding up. Now’s the time to get right with God, if not already. Time is very short. Just take a look around with open eyes.
And, don’t forget...”Buy gold!”
I supplied the thinking and it did the work.
BTW, I use it regularly. It significantly increases my productivity.
No one is suggesting it will think for me.
As for backstory, all I ask it was "if I give you 100 columns of stock prices over time (time being a variable) , can you give me a formula which picks the combination (the number of which is a variable) which results in the highest rate of growth."
Is that single sentence a lot of programming?
Just as an aside, have you actually used ChatGPT yet? Or are you speaking about it from a distance with no personal experience?
Great Oracle:
Is Joe Biden demented?
Who would be the best Republican presidential candidate?
Is Greg Abbott a phony?
Would John Roberts be a truly conservative Supreme Court judge?
Should I trust William Barr?
Does this document need to remain classified?
Many years ago my brother reported to me that he had ridden in a corvette and was very unimpressed. He said it rode like a small truck.
I asked him if he was actually behind the wheel. "No," he said, he was just a passenger. I asked him if, when he was a passenger, it was driven down some winding roads where he could observe its capabilities and performance in cornering. "No," just on the expressway.
Anyway, give ChatGPT a try and take it down some winding roads. Push it to its limits and then see what you think.
From Wikipedia:
ChatGPT was launched on November 30, 2022, and gained attention for its detailed and articulate responses spanning various domains of knowledge. However, a notable drawback has been its tendency to confidently provide inaccurate information.
In one instance, ChatGPT generated a rap indicating that women and scientists of color were inferior to white male scientists.
Shortly after ChatGPT’s launch, a reporter for the Toronto Star had uneven success in getting it to make inflammatory statements: ChatGPT was tricked to endorse the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, but even when asked to play along with a fictional scenario, ChatGPT balked at generating arguments for why Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was guilty of treason.
OpenAI cautions that the tool will “likely yield a lot of false positives and negatives, sometimes with great confidence.”
PCMag journalists conducted a test to determine translation capabilities of ChatGPT, Google’s Bard, and Microsoft Bing, and compared them to Google Translate. They “asked bilingual speakers of seven languages to do a blind test.” Languages tested were Polish, French, Korean, Spanish, Arabic, Tagalog, and Amharic. They concluded that ChatGPT beat both Google Translate and other chatbots.

What developers are afraid of is that it can program and update itself without being pre-programmed to do so.
In fact, it has already done so (not speaking of ChatGPT of course).
BTW, per ChatGPT, “AI is not just executing a pre-written program on application-specific hardware. It is a complex system that can learn from data and improve itself over time.”
They know what is in the lab. We get the retarded version, which scares us. But they’ve seen it in its more capable version.
If you were to take some 1974 technology products into a 1924 college classroom, such as a pocket calculator, an electric typewiter and a cassette recorder, you would certainly turn some heads but college students would see those products as logical progressions of products they were already using.
However, take an iPhone into a 1974 college classroom and they would think that product came from a highly advanced civilization from a planet light years away.
Yeps. That’s true...and scary.
