If the election, which in 2020 never ended, just shifted, up until congress voted; all efforts up to the certification were trying to stop the steal. Where as Kari Lake is trying to overturn an election.
If it were a crime, it didn't happen even at the right time to even be in play.
If it has not been certified there is nothing yet to “overturn” except in prosecutor’s fevered imagination.

The truth is NOT “our truth.” Truth is truth is facts is what really is. If it didn’t really happen then it is nobody’s truth that it happened no matter what one might claim. If my truth is not the same as your truth then one or the other is not truth.
Saying that Trump was attempting to “overturn the election” by merely wanting to audit it is a tacit admission that the election was stolen because auditing it would overturn it.

The certification of the votes of a presidential election is actually done as a process using the results sent up by the states. The only thing the feds do is count the electoral votes from what they received and tally them up. It is a simple process and one they would have to lie about at that level after the vote was accomplished and forwarded to change or even question. There is nothing in the Constitution that gives them any way to promote change unless the tally they received isn’t the one that came from the state.
The state determines how they will divide their electoral votes and the finished product goes to the feds for a simple addition from all states and voting territories sending in results. Th feds do not have a say in the results if the count from the states was delivered to them properly. It is formality.
