Peet's Coffee is running six TV commercials, and two of them are racist. Both of those racist ads contrast cool non-whites with whites behaving badly.
In the first ad ("Birthday Cake", https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VINuGmrcibw) a white couple dressed like preppies are in the jungle somewhere looking for coffee beans that taste like birthday cake. The Noble Hispanic Coffee Grower can't believe it. When he ignores their request and walks away, the broad caricatures even ask to speak to a manager (a reference to the racist "Karen" trope).
In the second ad ("Mango Breeze", https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=700iqog80Jo) a white woman orders complicated coffee drinks. Her daughter rolls her eyes; her son is a brat. The Noble Black Barista similarly walks away from the white woman. Yet another "Karen" moment ensues as the white woman backs up rather than being ignored.
To see how racist these ads are, simply reverse the races. Pretend the ads had an Angry Black Woman caricature [1] and a cool white male who couldn't believe what he was seeing. Picture that in your mind. Can you see Peet's doing that? Of course not. And, they know what they're doing: none of this casting is a coincidence.
Those involved are Jessica Buttimer (vice-president of brand marketing at Peet's) and the ad agencies Mischief (and the related No Fixed Address Media); Carl Peterson is the creative director at Mischief [2].
Until Peet's starts tweeting regularly, focus on tweeting to mischief_usa and those they RT.

What’s a good French Roast by a company that isn’t sold out to DEI?
White women are Karen.
Black people are Strong and Proud.
“Creative” in advertising has trends and popular memes — like anything else. It’ll wear off in a short while.
About when it gets Really Annoying is when it will suddenly fall by the wayside. And they’ll move on to something else just as stupid and annoying.
Love Peet’s coffee. Their Kenyan and Ethiopian whole bean coffees are delicious, especially if you order them freshly roasted.
How about an ad with urban “teens” looting a coffee shop looking for Nike flavored beans?
Yes -- strong and proud POCs; and don't forget: they love 4-wheelin', hiking, investment banking, buying life insurance, retiremant planning, astronomy, bicycling and their females are widely known for designing skyscrapers and supervising their construction wearing a yellow vest and hardhat.
At least that's what the commercials say.
Amazing how big companies hate and disrespect the people who buy their product but love the ones who steal it.
Describes every commercial.
Lol, zing!
The Italian coffee Lavazza is delicious. Don’t know their politics.
I am exploring that right now.
Have you been to Sicily?
Meanwhile, All-State Insurance is running ads with a transgender “ woman “.
These companies are in-your-face with WOKE insanity.
Darn, I was buying their coffee. But thanks to that dastardly capitalism, there are competitors with equally good coffee. Peet’s is now dead to me. And hopefully, many more.
And the clients dare not complain, "That's anti-white."
In this world of social media, such complaints will go viral and draw condemnations of white supremacy.
I stopped buying peets years ago. It has been racist for a long while.
Dang it. I like Peet’s Coffee. I ordered it online a lot when I was working overseas and shared it with the military people I worked with so that we didn’t have to drink chow hall swill.
I guess they’re off my list now.
Dear 8 O’Clock Coffee and Black Rifle Coffee - please don’t start doing woke crap.
I have NEVER seen a home security company advertise anyone other than criminal WHITE people breaking into a house.
I contacted them and thanked them for saving me the money I would’ve spent on a security system that only stops white people from breaking in.
“About when it gets Really Annoying is when it will suddenly fall by the wayside.”
Then it’s past time. It’s been really annoying for at least couple of years.
It’s in my bucket list! My husband’s father’s side are from Sicily. Lavazza is our favorite coffee....very rich & smooth.
