CNN Chyron: “Outdated Constitution Has Put Democracy at Risk”
PatriotandLiberty ^ | 9/23 | Selwyn Duke

CNN may never be able to top its now infamous 2020 chyron, “Fiery But Mostly Peaceful Protests…” — but that doesn’t mean the network isn’t still trying. It’s latest effort is an eyebrows-and-ire-raising attack on America’s foundation reading, “SCHOLARS WARN OUTDATED CONSTITUTION HAS PUT DEMOCRACY AT RISK.”

Of course, perspective is needed. If the “scholars” — Harvard government professors Steven Levitsky and Daniel Ziblatt — mean “democracy” as in the people or our congressmen get whatever they want at the moment based on majority vote no matter how rash, they have a point. The Constitution certainly is an impediment to glorified mob rule. This is for a good reason, too, one that happens to be the precise reason cultural revolutionaries hate the document

It is conservative by its very nature.

The Constitution has always been a threat to democracy because it set up a republic. The Constitution guarantees us inalienable rights even if all the other citizens vote to take them away.

If the Constitution seems out of date it’s due to the current era’s incompatibility with the Constitution and not the other way around. The Constitution and what it means is supposed to be transcendent of current events and concerted efforts to abuse and demolish it. The only logical conclusion to arrive at is that the Constitution applies to the future “as is”, and that it takes an act(s) of Congress to amend it, not to rewrite it. If the Constitution doesn’t suit them then they should get out of town and find themselves a foreign tailor!

Excellent points and on the mark. That is why I cringe whenever anyone says we have a democracy.

Yes, the whole point of the Constitution was to prevent democracy. It’s a republic, if we can keep it.

The experience of all former ages had shown that of all human governments, democracy was the most unstable, fluctuating and short-lived.

CNN tells us: “Outdated Constitution Has Put Democracy at Risk”

Reality Check

The Harvard types mean “democracy” as in “the haters grab whatever they want at the moment, based on majority vote, no matter how despicable.”

They have a point........

The Constitution certainly is an impediment to the glorified, “diversified” mob rule which guides them.

This is for a good reason....one that happens to be the precise reason these variously hued cultural revolutionaries despise the document

What the socialists and Marxists advocate is not democracy, nor is it consistent with a republic. They advocate for an oligarchy composed of them. So they can have their oligarchy just like the Russians and Chinese. Obama lamented the fact that he was hampered by the Constitution and couldn’t govern more like a Chairman Xi.

The Constitution is a threat to Deep State.

Ours is the only constitution ever written that protects the citizenry from its government.
