that behavior is anxiety usually -
Oh, poor pup. That’s a CRUEL trick to play on a loyal pet. The “pack” should run TOGETHER.
Stop screwing with the dog for kicks
Now that was funny.
That’s kinda mean.
Some adult dogs, and most adult cats would have just sat down or took a quick nap, especially if they have seen this done before. With puppies, the owners are toying with little Fido’s affections, good for a giggle, but truthfully, not very nice. That makes him worry about being left behind.
What’s “funny” is the author calling the dog’s owners putting their dog through emotional disstress, “funny”.
The two owners are immature people, seeking “clicks” at the poor thing’s expense.
It’s surely not the first time they did it to the dog, either. This time was for posting it, to get clicks.

Yes it will cause anxiety in a dog. I have had many pups but I have had fun with them in a different way. I would play hide and seek with them. The dogs love it and it keeps their minds sharp. They would have to hunt me down and I provide them a challenge. My last dog would not give up until she found me no matter how long it took.
“Arrrrgh! What to do, what to do? I love them both, and now they’ve left me!”
I had a cat that loved to find me when I hid. It was so fun to see her reaction when she finally figured out where I was. I'd always pick her up and let her know what a good kitty she was.
Some people seem to think that animals don’t like to play.
Most dogs and cats love it. Those that don’t just don’t play along.
Ever since I started having seizures, my dog has been extremely attentive. He usually follows me from room to room keeping an eye on me in case I collapse.
When I have one, my diaphragm seizes and I stop breathing for 15 to 30 seconds multiple times over a few minutes. I’m out of it, immobilized, and don’t know what is happening, but apparently my dog does. According to my family, if I stop breathing for too long, he starts barking furiously at family members (who are by my side, keeping an eye on me, ready to do CPR or call the ambulance). Sometimes he gets very upset and starts growling and snapping at my family, shielding my body with his.
He lays beside me and licks me hands, arm, and face.
He usually knows one is coming because he suddenly perks up and turns to stare at me. If he’s not by me side, he comes over to me.
No, my pup isn’t trained; however, he is smart and sweet and apparently cares about me. I would never pull this trick on him.
Thanks for posting these - I enjoy the good laugh in each AM.
