Ah, the Arctic Blast saga continues, and this time climate scientists are pointing fingers at climate change. The catch? Arctic Blast 2 is expected to be “less worse” than its predecessor. I guess we’re looking for silver linings in freezing temperatures now.
Iowa is gearing up for some seriously chilly vibes, with temperatures plummeting more than 40°F below normal. Now, that’s a bone-chilling Saturday morning in the making. Actual temperatures hitting the -20s °F in Iowa – sounds like a scene from a winter thriller.

My daughter was dealing with -28 degrees last week. But 11 degrees (high) tomorrow, and 47 on Sunday. I told her that by my calculations she will need to put her A/C back in the window by Wednesday!

Ole and Lena wanted to put in a fence and had the surveyors out there. After the survey was done they got the big surprise - turns out their property wasn’t in Iowa - but in Minnesota! Lena was dismayed and told them to check their figures.
Heh - Lena was right - the surveyors screwed up and told Lena she still lived in Iowa.

why Anyone would trust a scientist about the climate that cannot determine the difference between a man and a woman is beyond me. maybe the deeper problem in in the math. there are only two types of human chromosomes that can only be combined in two configurations. if these so-called “scientists” can’t do the simple math, how can they be expected to do more complicated math?

Every time I see the words hottest, coldest, wettest, or driest , I look for the fine print and it’s always something like since 1974, since satellite data was available, or some such artificial starting point.
This morning the sky will be the brightest is ever been since midnight. This is proof that the sun will explode if we don’t immediately raise taxes on the rich (everyone is rich).

Mid-20s in Pensacola for Friday and Saturday nights.
Fifty years ago I spent a day in northern Illinois that had a balmy -11° for a high temperature, 40-60 mph gusts and thunder. The weatherman advised that if one had to be outside in such weather, one should dress in Chevrolets, Dodges or Fords or something similar.
Sadly, I was driving a VW micro bus at the time. It did start right up though.

Have had snow here in my area of NY that normally wouldn’t be that bad but is now made worse by the riad crews themselves suddenly being less that subpar at best.
