Did you feel it? Small, brief earthquake. A couple movements, pause, then shaking. One cat took notice. The other slept through it.

There was a loud boom and the house shook just before 8:30AM EST here just north of Daytona Beach, FL ... but it was the AX3 re-entering the atmosphere and what I heard and felt was the sonic boom.

No, that’s just the truck that delivers live fish to the Vietnamese market around the corner. It’s essentially a big aquarium on wheels and always gives the house a little shake. You’ll get used to it.

Well, since you asked ...

I feel the earth move under my feet.
I feel the sky tumbling down, tumbling down.
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you’re around ...

Earthquakes are caused by global warming. We’re all gonna die. Where is Greta?

I am really ignorant of the topic. Heard someone speculate that the enormous amounts of water on land could weaken places below and put pressure on fault lines.

Does anyone know a lot about that?

I think I am the only one that felt a very minor (maybe under a 3) here in Oahu this morning. I heard a slight shift on the foundation of my apartment, then a small shake.
(I am used to them, having lived for so long in Japan.)
I’ve checked the news, but nothing listed here, although there was a mid sized one on Big Island about the same time I felt one (probably what I felt).

Ha.

That’s the kind of guts that made America great.

We’ll rush some tax money from DC to help.✌🏻

Like I mentioned above, I believe I am the only one that felt anything here on Oahu... (but it was very small, and only felt 2 shakes).

We did not feel it in southern New Hampshire, but we are in a different time zone.

That Earthquake movie had about the lamest assortment of characters of any movie. Former evangelical preacher Marjoe Gortner. Case closed.

Great ending though, of George Kennedy in front of the totally ruined landscape with burning natural gas lines shooting into the air and smoldering ruins of skyscrapers on the ground:
“This used to be a helluva town once.”

When I lived in Southern CA a 4.6 was enough to remind you that you were not in Kansas anymore—but not enough to cause significant damage.

With Pittsburgh on the left, and Philly on the right side, we here in “Alabama” are doing just fine. Heh.
