As various outlets are now reporting, local reporters tracked down her ex-husband and spoke with him. She was biologically female, and the mother of the child that was shot. One of his biggest gripes with her is that she did drugs while pregnant with the child. So yeah, pretty sure it was XX-chromosome-womb “she” and not PC “meat and two veg in a wig” “she”.
