Metalworker Fired For Opposing Company’s Gay Pride Symbol

Daniel Snyder was fired from his job as a metalworker because he objected to his employer’s use of a rainbow to promote gay pride month.

Snyder, who worked for the global aluminum manufacturing giant Arconic, is suing his former employer claiming religious discrimination. As I wrote in my new book, “Twilight’s Last Gleaming,” religious liberty is under fierce attack in the nation. Click here to read my book.

“Because of his Christian beliefs, Mr. Snyder respects all people regardless of their sexuality, and he previously worked alongside a transgender individual at Arconic without any issues,” said Thomas More Society attorney Michael McHale. “His sincerely held Christian beliefs also include the reasonable understanding that the Bible teaches marriage is only between one man and one woman.”

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit is expected to hear Snyder’s appeal on Tuesday.

“He also sincerely believes that the Bible shows that the rainbow is a sign of the covenant between God and man, and thus that it is sacrilegious to use the rainbow to promote relationships and ideologies that violate God’s law,” the attorney said.

Arconic notified Snyder that his comment offended a fellow employee, and the 62-year-old worker was then suspended and terminated, allegedly for violating the company’s “Diversity Policy.”

“The Biden Administration is seeking to enshrine in federal law that big companies’ ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ (DEI) policies trump the religious liberty rights of individual American workers,” said Thomas More attorney Peter Breen. “Massive companies like Arconic are using their DEI policies to threaten people of faith merely because they express their sincere religious beliefs—here, the Biden Administration has come into court to defend religious discrimination committed by a large powerful company against a single Christian union worker.”

As I wrote in “Twilight’s Last Gleaming,” many companies are using DEI policies to discriminate specifically against Christians.

“Ironically, Arconic is the one refusing to respect the diversity of Mr. Snyder’s beliefs or to acknowledge that he was offended by the company’s choice to co-opt the rainbow to promote ideologies that conflict with the Biblical understanding of marriage and sexuality,” McHale said. “And Arconic’s outright refusal to acknowledge that he was just trying to answer a company survey, rather than impose his views on others, was illegal.”

So a pervert being offended is actionable, but a Christian being offended by a pervert symbol is fire-able?

We are so upside down.

Nobody needs to be “religous” to understand that anal sex is disgusting.

Age discrimination, as well, I’d guess.

Maybe if he gets fired, some pension fund doesn’t take a hit.

This is a private company. They can fly whatever flag they want. They are not stopping people from practicing their religion. If I don’t like the company displaying the flag, I can choose to not work there or I can work there and ignore it. This is not a freedom of religion issue; employees can practice whatever religion they choose.

The NFL is a private company. They can require employees to not wear political symbols on their uniforms; they can require employees to stand at attention when the national anthem is played. This is not a freedom of speech issue; employees can speak freely on their own time.

His sincerely held Christian beliefs also include the reasonable understanding that the Bible teaches marriage is only between one man and one woman.

The true meaning why he was fired faggots have been using it as a club to justify their actions for years.

Daniel, being a skilled metalworker, will have another high paying job by the end of the day.

There was a Seinfeld episode in the 90s where Kramer marched in an AIDS awareness march but didn't have the little ribbon pin on his coat. Two gay gays questioned him about it and Kramer said 'hey, I'm here aren't i? I support you guys!'. Not good enough, he MUST wear their ribbon and they threatened him and aggressively chased him for not wearing their ribbon.

It was a joke in the '90s. Today it's reality. Put on the rainbow or be ruined. The should just get it over with and put in on an arm band.

I have a friend who worked for Verizon. A few years ago when the guy marriage issue wad being pushed on people the company asked for opinions opinions on their intraoffice communications system. Not privately but publicly. He responded with his bible based opinion and they started targeting him. Luckily he as savvy and kept screen shots and email communications. They fired him. He sued. Took years to go through courts but he eventually won a large judgment. This guy would win too. They asked for I put via survey. They wanted his opinion. They got it. The fact they don’t like doesn’t mean they get to fire him.

I am glad I don’t work for you. If a private company can fire someone for voicing their religious belief but allows a gay person to voice and show their sexual belief, isn’t that discriminatory? Did this guy demand the LGBT symbols be taken down? No. He answered a question that was asked apparently. So he can’t be truthful to himself?

Grrrr. This ticks me Fd. I can’t boycott them because they are one of only two Producers of the aluminum alloy I need. I have probably spent a million bucks on their aluminum over the course of the past 15 years. I doubt writing a letter will matter but I will.
