[history]
This movie will make a billion dollars. Americans are dying in Iraq. Heck, Americans are being opprressed [sic] and starving in America. So what if some lame-brain character in a movie with a budget as large as the GNP of Zimbabwe succeeds in a make-believe quest in a non-existent country against pretend enemies? It's all so inconsequential!

Socialist signing on with Sauron. Why am I not surprised?

This guy must be left of left, particularly when so many hippies read LOTR back in the 1960s.

A little humor. The left joins Sauron in assault on Middle Earth. We've got news for them--they lose!

Possession of his ring of enslavement--socialist ideology--has clearly destroyed his capacity for rational thought.

That guy is obviously already brain dead from too much of something. Orcs are still alive and well. They're just in better disguises now.

"A customer from the real world": Real world where racism is the norm, good guys aren't supposed to win, the greatest country in the world is not supposed to enjoy the fruits of it's labors, but feel guilty about how poor zimbabwe is. A real world where everything good sucks, and misery should reign supreme.
I hate leftists some days.

I mean really... Is this guy so lacking in human contact that he needs to post this crap on Amazon.com?
This guy is either a hermit with no one to talk to or he's a conservative trying (successfully) to make the looney left look even loonier...
To: Faraday
Funny he should mention Zimbabwe, since it was leftist support for that tragic country's insane Marxist dictator that has created the whole mess. From the breadbasket of sub-Saharan Africa to a deadly hell-hole in one easy Socialist step. . . . . .

Reality check.
So what if some lame-brain character in a movie with a budget as large as the GNP of Zimbabwe
According to the CIA World Factbook, the GDP of Zim is about $27 billion.
Just a little larger than LOTR's budget.

Good grief.
The reviewer either didn't see the movie or is a masochist.

The reviewer probably thought "Eyes Wide Shut" was a great, ground-breaking movie, and thinks everything done by Michael Moore is brilliant.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
I love it. It took (Took?) the intellectuals some time (about the release of TTT) to figure out that LoTR is not "simple" fantasy with no implication for the conflicts and issues in today's world. Now about a year later, the frothing socialist base, frustrated by the resurgence of the capitalist economy in the US and the victories scored over international terrorism, strike out wildly at the films which embody the struggle of light vs. shadow.

Well: it's no more fictional than "I, Rigoberta."
Somehow I doubt this fellow will waste the same moral energy on that entry.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Hey now, Eyes Wide Shut was a good movie. Not for the kiddies, but a good movie.
Michael Moore, on the other hand, is just an idiot.
BTW, what's up with a "review" on amazon.com for a movie that hasn't been release in the theaters, much less on DVD??? Amazon.com won't be selling ROTK DVDs until August 2004. A little early to "review" something the reviewer hasn't even seen yet!
What a miserable little pissant. Jumping the gun before the real reviewers arrive.
To: Faraday
I feel a yawn coming on....
To: maquiladora
Oh yeah I forgot, to leftists, if the villian in a movie isn't white, the movie is racist.
Damn that jango fett making hispanics look bad even though he's not even hispanic but Maori... damn that racist George Lucas!!!!!1
