Would pay to have a framed picture of that TV shot where the cameroncrazies were holding their heads in their hands.

the real basketball games are played on Thursday and Saturday (and sometimes sunday). Pretend teams pay on Wednesday.

Chris McCray
Chris McCray tallied seven points and six rebounds, as Maryland upended second-ranked and previously undefeated Duke, 75-66.

Durham, NC (Sports Network) - Nik Caner-Medley poured in 25 points and Ekene Ibekwe added 15 as Maryland upended second-ranked and previously undefeated Duke, 75-66 at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

John Gilchrist finished with 10 points and nine rebounds for the Terrapins (11-6, 3-3 ACC), who rebounded from their loss at home against North Carolina State on January 23. Chris McCray tallied seven points and six rebounds in the win.

J.J. Redick scored 20 points and Shelden Williams added 18 to go along with 14 rebounds and seven blocks for the Blue Devils (15-1, 5-1), who lost for the second straight time to the Terrapins. With the loss, Illinois and Boston College are the lone undefeated teams left in the nation.

"I just thought they played a little bit harder than we did," Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "We didn't have the attitude that we've had the entire year. This team has to have an edge all the time."

Caner-Medley kept the Terrapins close in the early parts of the second half, scoring nine of their first 11 points, as Maryland trailed 46-41. Chris McCray scored five of the next seven Maryland points to help them grab a 48-47 lead with 13:40 remaining.

The two teams traded buckets for much of the second-half with no team leading by more than four.

Trailing 64-62 with under two minutes to go, Duke's Shavlik Randolph tied the game at 64-64 when he followed a Williams free throw miss with a lay-in.

Ibekwe answered on the other end, hitting a leaning jumper in the lane to give Maryland the two-point advantage, 66-64. The Blue Devils were unable to tie the contest on their next possession and after a pair of free throws by Travis Garrison, the Terrapins lead grew to four.

On Duke's next possession, Lee Melchionni missed a wide-open three-pointer on the wing to get the Blue Devils within one. Ibekwe was fouled on the rebound and sank both free throws to seal the win for Maryland. Duke managed only two points in the final 3 1/2 minutes of the contest.

"He (Caner-Medley) was great," Maryland head coach Gary Williams stated. "He has picked up his game now and has been doing everything on the court. This has helped him get away from being a one-dimensional shooter."

Duke shook off a sluggish start from the field and an early seven-point deficit, to take a 34-30 lead into the locker room. Redick led all scorers with 13 points in the half.

"I have just been real aggressive," Caner-Medley explained. "John (Gilchrist) has been getting me good looks and I have been able to hit shots."

Game Notes

Duke saw its three-game winning streak against the Terrapins come to an end at Cameron Indoor Stadium...The Terrapins have won three of their last four contests...Duke shot 24-of-72 (33 percent) from the field and went 7-of-25 from three-point range...Maryland outrebounded Duke 48-40...Garrison finished with nine points in the win and converted 5-of-6 from the line, all in the final minute of play.
