It was wrong to kill her. [JimRob on Terri Schiavo]

He posted this editorial on Terri Schiavo, Sunday April 3rd.

I said it was wrong to kill her. That is my opinion. Nothing can change it. No list of "facts" will ever change it.

And I put "facts" in quotes because most of the so-called "facts" posted here were in fact "opinion." Whether it was a poster's opinion, a reporter's opinion, her husband's opinion, a relative's opinion, a supporter's opinion, a detractor's opinion, a politician's opinion, a lawyer's opinion, a doctor's opinion, the president's opinion, the governor's opinion, or even the judge's opinion - they were and are all opinions.

And none of them are incontrovertible or indisputable fact.

In fact, they continue calling in more doctors and more experts to give their opinion even after it's all said and done. In this battle of press, public, politicians, doctors, lawyers and "experts" the side with the most thumbs down votes won and she was killed. What was it, two out of three or three out of five? How about we go for seven out of twelve? How about one "no" vote out of twelve and you don't execute?

The last I heard, in this country when you are on trial for your life, if there is one doubtful juror, you don't receive a death sentence. The accused receives the benefit of the doubt. Of course, Terri did not even receive the benefit of a trial much less the benefit of the doubt. She was simply snuffed out per a judge's order based on three out of five expert "opinions." It's a shame and a disgrace and a mockery of justice.

DEAR STARWISE,
MY ONLY COMFORT IS THE WORD OF GOD!

Re 19:11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather together for the supper of the great God,
18 "that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great."
19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
(NKJV)

GODBLESS AND GODSPEED!

"People that can stand around and defend the judicial murder by starvation of an innocent disabled woman by claiming that they believe in the "rule of law" are truly frightening, IMHO."

This goes even deeper than that. Her "husband" used the system to knock his wife off. Think about that.

"It was wrong to kill her." Eloquent words. Glad Jim Robinson wrote them. I wish, though, that they'd come from Dick Cheney -- instead of his infuriating kiss-up to the courts that killed Terri.

...How would any of us feel if this had been our daughter?...

More awful then I can imagine. My parents lost my sister who was only about 2 years old 50 years ago, before I was born.

My father is no longer living. My mother went to her grave a couple of days ago to visit on her birthday. As when my father was alive, they showed up on a regular basis. Birthday, Easter, Christmas, and then some.

Such devotion should not go unnoticed. Our children are to us as we are to God. Precious.

The culture of death says, "Who would want to live like Terri?"; the culture of life says, "Who would want to die like Terri?"

Well said!

I don't agree in euthanasia for people in a PVS, even if the victim put it in writing that they want it, under those conditions. Killing people is wrong.

Thanks Jim Robinson

Well I posted many times to the Terri threads.

I believe for my own edification, that I have learned and now know without a doubt that I am and ignorant, low class, crazy, right wing nut, hypocrite, idiot, stupid idiot, zealot, bigot, pompous, arrogant, self righteous, liar and many, many more comments not worth mentioning.

I have had my Christianity questioned, told not to pray for certain posters and accused of using prayer as weapon.

Even with all of the above I still maintain that the death of Terri Shivo was a court ordered killing of an innocent human being.

For me, states rights, separation of powers nor judicial activism entered into why I felt that way.

What happened to Teri was just wrong for a country that holds itself out to the world as the most humanitarian and caring nation in the history of the mankind.

The verdict is still out but if I was a betting man, I would stake the farm on public opinion turning on the perpetrators of this black mark on our wonderful country.

Also the husband.

An innocent woman condemned on hearsay... to death... by a court... with a media successfully convincing 2/3 of the sheeple this was good and right...

On HEARSAY! The chain of evidence holds fast and drags this woman to a dry and miserable death, even while one of its links is a pork rind.

What I want to know is what happened to our culture, our nation.......... in just 60 years. What was once a war crime is hailed today as a constitutional right.

Oh honey! You forgot lunatic and fringer! Or weren't you on the daily Terri thread that day? Evidently the prayers and Scripture were proof of it.

"Unlike some who have left I will continue to post my view until such time I am no longer allowed."

It's not my ball, and even if it was, I wouldn't take it and go home. Debate should always be encouraged and has a place in a viable democracy. However, while I would eagerly listen to your opinion all day long if necessary, I wouldn't agree with it for even one second on this matter.
