Taos County administrators plan to talk next week to one of their Adult Detention Center officers
an unidentified employee who released an inmate Dec. 22 without first checking his paperwork.
Jerry Trujillo, who is now at large, was arrested Dec. 12 by Sheriffs Deputy Jason Wardlow on three counts of burglary, one count of larceny and two counts of criminal damage to property.
Trujillo was being held pending a preliminary hearing scheduled Dec. 23.
He did not attend that hearing.
There are two open warrants against Trujillo.
Victor Robles, one of two assistant county managers, did not know what charges were listed on the warrants...
Robles would not confirm information that county officials may have contacted Trujillos family ...
When contacted by The Taos News regarding the case, Robles said he could not furnish a description of Trujillo.

And when he thinks the heat is off, he will cross back again. And commit more crimes.
The assistant county manager could not provide a description, could not say if the victim's family was notified, could not...
Amazing !
Government SNAFU's are always amazing. Gets worse when they reach TARFU and FUBAR.
and who and where is..." unidentified employee who released an inmate ..."
CYA time, of course.
There seems to be allot of this mistaken releases and/or easy escapes lately.
Second Amendment and more range time...
The Tao of Taos.
Rumor has it, the solution rate for those sorts of crimes are close to zero in most communities.
You are right, we need more concerned citizens who can shoot. My eye is good and I am willing, but never had the opportunity...
Going to the range would be a good start.
Having good security cameras with motion lights to tape the bad guys can be helpful.
Not being an easy target at home or out in public is a big goal of mine.
