killed by her pet hybrid wolves that she kept in a pen in her back yard.
The county coroner said 50-year-old Sandra Piovesan, of Salem Township, Ore., was alive when she was attacked and she bled to death.
Officials said most of the animals weighed 70 to 100 pounds and some were 7 to 8 years old.
Humane agents said they had warned Piovesan about the animals.

Is this lady a Darwin candidate?
Thanks for the post.
I did two different searches, but missed this.
GRRRR...
"She was a very likable person, but she was just delusional about their danger and totally misguided," said Action for Animals Humane Society Officer Elaine Gower.

This is confusing. Salem, Oregon isn't in Westmoreland County. It's in Marion County. Also the coronor appears to be located in Pennsylvania.
You're a very likable person, but you are just delusional about the danger of the search and totally misguided. ;)
I am also getting older with a failing memory...
Depends, did she reproduce?
Perhaps, but your tagline more than makes up for it!
Y'know, it's easy to make fun of "Bark at the Moon," but it's really a decent song, and it's given us a helluva metaphor for the DUmmies.
It's not Salem, OR, It's Salem Township, PA.
The only song my radio station (104.7 WIOT Toledo, OH) played from that album, way back in '83, was "Rock and Roll Rebel."
I didn't hear "Bark at the Moon" until 10 years later. Very bizarre.
no duh... maybe she was already dead and the wolves attacked her dead body... :\ sheesh captain obvious...
Thanks for clearing that up for me. The article said Salem Township Oregon. I lived in Salem Oregon; never heard of a Salem Township.
I know, I used to live in OR and knew there was something screwy so I started looking and came up with PA. Cheers.:-)
Almost every time.
Ownership of wolf hybrids is illegal in Tennessee and Mississippi just for this reason. Since they are hybrids, conventional domestic animal vaccines are potentially disease causing in them. I have folks all of the time brag that they have wolf hybrids and I just let them take their animals to the more unethical veterinarians that infest this area.
I had a friend with a wolf. The wolf was only nine months old and already 130lbs. The wolf got riled up somehow and attacked him when he came into its cage. It bit off three of his fingers, and did severe damage to his other arm.
