From what I can tell the article is correct.
So, Freepers what do we do about it?
Want to complain about immigration some more and nail the coffin shut?

It doesn't have anything to do with it, but that's not the point. Many, many people, sadly, are governed only by vague perceptions.
I've been optimistic till the Foley thing broke. Now, I think we are in for a bloodbath.
To: sachem longrifle
Why would people trust the Democrats on terrorism because of Foley? Doesn't make sense. I guess I can understand the moral values issue, but what does national security and one former Congressman's sexual scandal have to do with each other?

Is this the poll that Bill Kristol referred to last night on Special Report, where the internal numbers showed no movement from prior weeks, but the story was indicating doom and gloom?

Newsweek has a declared practice of polling "adult Americans" without bothering to attempt to identify "likely voters." Haven't looked at this poll to see if they're doing that again, but in the past that's been the reason why Newsweek polls have been off about 10% in favor of the bad guys.

Now that the Democrats have burned down the Reichstag the MSM is lapping this sh!t up and the people are listening.
The Republican party is seen as a nest of homosexuals enabling each other in preying upon young children.

I remember the polls being bad throughout 2000, 2002 and 2004 then we had an election and the Republicans won that.

I just don't think this Foley stuff is going to make much difference with Republican voters. We have experenced the twisted, filtered information and news coming from the left and its MSM lackys. I think this may embolden Republicans to take a few minutes from work and go and vote. I think the key is going to be how many of us turn up at the polling place. We cannot allow lies and subterfuge to beat us...vote...and encourage a Republican friend to come with you.

I don't think the Foley mess can sway peoples' opinion on the WOT and morals as it relates to Dems favorability. But I think, that with the appearance that we are safe, which is due to the excellent efforts of the WOT, and with the sort of same thing happening that happened with Dan Rakowski (was that his name?) in '94, with the checking cashing scandal, you might have a potential situation in which people feel safe enough to throw the bums out, even though they have no real desire to throw the opposing bums in. What's the word I'm looking for, voter ennui?

Polls are less and less relevant every day with cell phones, caller ID, call blocking, etc., etc.

Utter nonsense. Personally, I'm unconvinced that many Republicans deserve to be re-elected, but they will be. 90%+ of Americans don't even know who Mark Foley is, including probably 65% of his own constituents.

Sounds like someone is setting up to scream about another "stolen election" once this doesn't pan out the way their poll says it should.
To: sachem longrifle
No internals. Based on the data pretty clear they pulled a CBS and polled about 15-20% MORE Democrats. Pure garbage poll. IF there was all this melt down in Republicans at least SOME of the Freepers would be expressing what the poll is showing. None one is.
That NO Freepers are echoing what the public is supposedly telling Newsweak makes it pretty obvious they weighted their poll to generate a result that would validate their editorial line. UNTIL we can see some solid internals on this one, which they are withholding for some odd reason, I say this is pure unadulterated statistical manipulation. The Democrats game plan clearly is to try and depress GOP turn out since they KNOW they cannot win on the issues. It tell we can see the internals on this one it is just another "Flush the Koran" story from Newsweak

its total BS and we will see on election day, i think what we will be seeing from he on out is poll manipulation like we saw before 2004 and we know who had the last last laugh then.
