Soon after their 17-year-old friend was mauled to death by a tiger at the San Francisco Zoo, the two brothers who survived the attack made a quick pact not to cooperate with the police as they rode in an ambulance to the hospital, sources told The Chronicle.
"Don't tell them what we did," paramedics heard 23-year-old Kulbir Dhaliwal tell his brother, Paul, 19.
Sources also say that the younger brother was intoxicated at the time of the incident, having used marijuana and consumed enough liquor to have a blood-alcohol level above the .08 limit for adult drivers. The older brother also had been drinking and using marijuana around the time a 350-pound Siberian tiger escaped and killed Carlos Sousa Jr., the sources said.

after a state investigation faulted the zoo.....NOT the caretaker, contrary to repinwi's claims.
Agree.Looks like there is more that we know.If it was 100% fault of the zoo,we would face attorneys for the families screaming all over the local TV stations. As far as I know, these two have a long criminal record.
Agreed. And criminal, trespassing, and other charges should be made against the boys, but, as you said, that is a separate matter.
Oh please. I’m not “claiming” any evidence. If true, it’s a good question, wouldn’t you say? Personally, I think those two “yoots” were up to no good. What exactly that might have been, we don’t know-—yet.
If they have criminal records we need URLs.
That's based on an event in Seattle involving a bunch of PETA people and a stallion. One of the PETA guys died.
Given the environment, San Francisco, and their history, the Seattle event, my thoughts are certainly a place to start investigating this case.
Me too. I hope these two morons get some hard core animal rights activist on the jury. I have no time for those that taunt, are cruel, or disrespect animals.
What they did is NOT irrelevant, it is totally part and parcel of what happened. Cause/ effect/ personal responsibility/ idiocy/ Darwin.
The BA level is typically obtained by the hospital ER personnel at the hospital. They check for drugs and booze to help them decide what drugs, if any, to give, and how intoxicated the injured party is.
I think all the visitors to the zoo who are also members of PETA are there to check out the animals to see if they are ready for sexual intercourse.

Huh? What on earth does any of that have to do with this thread?
Well, some of us believe some of the "sources" are PETA people, and some of the posters are also PETA people.
PETA people are not trustworthy sources ~ they have "other interests" in the animals the rest of us don't understand, so we don't trust them.
Which answers the question ~ not the ambulance driver ~
“That would be the paramedics riding in the ambulance with the brothers.”
Wouldn’t they have gone in two separate ambulances?
“When the tiger turned her attention to the ultimate victum, the two brothers took off and offered him no help.”
good point. How sad for the boy who was killed.
He found out too late those boys were not his friends afterall.
I used your links to point out it’s unclear how it happened. One fact is true, the tiger was able to get the zookeeper’s arm during feeding time. Was the caretaker too close? Let’s see.....animal in cage and human within arms(paws)reach. Yup, I’d say she was too close.
” Ive seen the terribly cruel actions humans are capable of doing to each other, not to mention to helpless animals”
but...there is such a thing as a “bad” animal.
As a child I was attacked by a “bad” german shepherd - unprovoked.
Animals are capable of possessing different temperaments.
Having said that - the zoo is responsible for restraining those animals no matter what the circumstances.
I’m surprised to learn there were no cameras in the zoo of such a large city - and I’m surprised it was open on Christmas day when there wouldn’t be enough staff around to walk around and properly monitor.
I’m sure the most common problem all zoos face are children or stupid/drunk teens who think it’s fun to tease animals.
They souhgt help at the Reptile House, where they were found Mark Garegos.
You claimed that the caretaker reached through the bars and that was how the tiger got her.
Yet three stories show exactly the opposite and a state investigation revealed the ZOO was at fault, not the caretaker, who would have been at fault if she had been inside feeding the tiger (as that was against zoo procedures), or had used something other than the required feeding door, which she did not.
Three stories showed that the tiger reached through the bars and grabbed the trainer.
There’s absolutely nothing unclear about any of the stories...except your own fabricated story, which you insist, contrary to all facts, is right, because you say so.
Good grief. Do you always find it this hard to admit you made a false claim and have nothing but your feeeelings to back it up?
