I know this article is three days old, but I wanted some input from FRiends who are sick and tired of infommercials (or even 15 second commercials) with screaming sales-people.

I just wrote to Fox News Channel, informing them that when that obnoxious Oxy-Clean guy, Billy Mays, starts screaming in my living room, I change the channel. I politely asked them to "delete" him or they will lose another viewer permanently.

“That was fine in church, I supposed, but more recently, the notion of screaming and hollering for respect and adoration has crept into almost every corner of our lives.”

How true. I have a colleague who is not only loud, redundant and he filibusters. He seems to think that if he keeps talking and interupting that he has convinced the listener.

Infomercials, nothing...

I can’t watch an episode of Hannity and Colmes anymore, ‘cause Nana grabs the remote and changes channels on me. To be honest, I don’t mind too much...it’s hard to figure out what either side is saying because they’re actually hollering at each other and not saying much of anything.

When I read this, I immediately thought of so many corporate offices, and how they so admire Loud, to the detriment of all other things.

I’m not against Loud, per say. I’ve met many “Louds” and they can be fine people. It’s just that Loud is also wrong, from time to time, but nonetheless seems to get promoted regularly, and is seldom confronted. You see, Loud is intimidating, even to Loud’s own bosses. (especially if they happen to be idiotic “peace at any cost”, bosses” So, rather than call him out, they curl up behind their desks and let Loud get his way.

I have fired Loud on many occasions, and I often discriminate in hiring because I don’t want to deal with the empty rhetoric that often accompanies Loud, as an employee. Loud is a bully, and he should shut up and get his a** to work.

From the title I thought the article was about the liberal (primarily African-American) politicos on the talk shows like O’Reilley. They yell and scream as if the question constituted fighting words and seem to belive the louder you yell the more convincing you will be.
