Is there a problem with enjoying modern stylish fashionable furniture as a hobby? I have been advised that talking about cars around the office is far more acceptable and manly than talking about the modern sleek lines of furniture or the leather interior of a car is far tougher than talking about soft Italian leather from a perfectly handcrafted Italian leather Sofa / Masterpiece that sits in my loungeroom for me to admire that I purchased from Home Concepts in Melbourne. I would much prefer to go to a site like www.fivekings.com.au than carsales.com and does this mean Im a poonce? I honestly believe that just because I choose interior design over changing a diff makes me less of a man because I too would be happy to learn how to change a diff rather than be closed minded and besides all the so called men out there are told that they have to buy what they are told anyway and Im sure in many cases they too are coming home to well designed and spacious pieces from furniture stores in Melbourne.
Or, alternatively, how much lager you consume while sitting on it watching sports.
If you have to ask, well......
Appreciating fine furniture is alright. Obsessing about it is weird.
Interesting first post...
It ain’t easy bein’ a Bruce...
You signed up to FR just to post that?
Teddy, you dolt! There’s a reason why men like sports and women like decorating the home. If my husband insisted on picking out the colors, the furniture, etc. we’d have been living in a home which I hated. Thank God, he couldn’t care less about colors. And I couldn’t care less about so many things he knows how to do. God had a plan that works.
My couch is made of skin from Liberals.
How the hell can “enjoying furniture” be a hobby?
Cars can be restored, modified, driven, raced, or taken to shows to compare to cars restored or modified by other guys - all requiring significant effort.
“Enjoying furniture” involves sitting on your @ss.

Are you sure you are in the right place?
.
Nah...but I'm glad to see you are taking care of your "toys"....LOL....(still waiting to buy a "50")
lol!!
makes a fine background screen. Thanks
I have exercised my veto power very rarely with regard to home decorating. The only instances I can think of involved my wife wanting a whole lot of "rose" colored (pink!!) paint, and later, the notion of covering up the beautiful cedar plank walls in the den. Damn that HGTV, giving her ideas like that.
For the most part, she can decorate however she wants. I'm usually out in the garage, either working on the car, doing some woodworking or reloading some ammo. As God intended.
Head for the bowling alley!
