Obama's Assault on the Internet

License Plates for the Internet - The Blueprints for Obama's Assault on the Internet

The report's recommendations emphasize taking away cybersecurity from DHS in order to create a special department to oversee cybersecurity. It recommends ending the division between civilian and national security systems. And calls for establishing "international norms" when it comes to the internet.

And it focuses a good deal on identity verification, not just for Federal employees, but for ordinary Americans as well.

The report urges a move away from passwords, and toward physical identity verification, via a device that would verify an individual's identity. And calls for "government issued credentials" to be used by consumers.

Looks like Obama isn't letting any time go to waste. If this goes through we may see the same sort of controls as seen in China or Sweden.

Yes, he revealed his fascist mentality clearly during the campaign.

I still expect him to hand control of the internet to the international community.

And with all the laws against “defaming Islam” sites like FreeRepublic will be shut down.

Go ahead Obama. Do it. I’m willing to bet many angry people will make a concerted effort to fund hackers and overseas virus authors to simply destroy the internet system altogether.

Personally, I’d be happier if we retracted to the slide rule and logarithm table era. It would be to my advantage.

That is what the article is suggesting. The standards to be used will be ‘international’ and that allows anyone to dictate to the US through a tribunal what is allowed on the internet.

When I use to work at a military base, we had to use something called a CAC Card. You had to use it combined with a PIN number. What a pain.

You got that right. With his vision of the internet, you make a few disparaging remarks on a lib site and suddenly someone is knocking on your door.

This sis surprising how? The Left wants the USA to report to Brussels and the new fuhrer's handlers are the leaders of that movement.

As Padme said (I hate to quote a movie but it is accurate): "This how liberty dies -- to thunderous applause."

Centralizing Internet security at the federal level would render the Internet useless long before the Odumbites got around to indicting people for using it.

“This how liberty dies — to thunderous applause.”

I like that!

That’s how it died in Germany, and in pre-Soviet Russia. The strange part is that the liberals who made that movie will be in the crowd applauding wildly.

After the following was posted about Google tracking....

http://www.drudgereport.com/flashgof.htm

People starting freaking out about Obama’s talk of appointing Google’s Schmidt to a new Tech position on his staff.(and rightly so)

Now we have this.....

http://www.inquisitr.com/7714/eric-schmidt-says-hes-not-interested-in-cto-position/

Guess Obama’s obsession with keeping his blackberry to keep in touch with the “common” people now makes perfect sense.

To think that most of us have lived longer without the internet, the thought of living without it is hard to imagine. Sites like this will be gone, not to mention all the site that sell guns and ammo. How in the hell did it come to this, and to think millions upon millions of people voted for this idiot....how long before the left realizes what they have done to themselves...and to the rest of us that screamed from the mountain tops to vote for mccain?

CAC cards are still in use - in fact, they’re damn near universal.

We can stock up on guns and ammo (and anyone who isn't stocking up is nuts) - but how do we stock up on our Free Speech rights?

How do we stock up on our rights to be secure in our property? Not stupid phone calls but physical presence of the Gummit accusing you of Hate Crimes Against The State.

The fuhrer's handlers have big plans -- total control and abrogation of the BOR and USC.
