Some 250 teenage boys will pile onto the carpet of the Islamic Center of Passaic County on Sunday to catch the Super Bowl on a big screen. But when the much-buzzed-about commercials come on, they won't be watching. A youth leader manning the projector slaps a piece of paper over the lens, blocking out images the center considers inappropriate, such as beers and bikinis.
"The purpose is to keep them away from bad influences," said Emad Hamdeh, the youth committee director. "The beer commercials show people happy while drinking; that's not reality."
During the self-imposed blackouts, the boy fans don't heckle in protest, said Hamdeh. He uses the breaks to talk about the purpose of life. As in "entertainment is OK, but shouldn't be the purpose of life," he said.
Not much of a football fan himself, Hamdeh said the boys

LOL - says who?
I’m not going to take any advice on beer (or anything else for that matter) from a muslim.
Honor killing = good
Bikini = bad
...more “diversity” coming at you soon.
We are in a fight for our lives, and the media plays the fiddle and blows a smokescreen as Europe falls into a heap of 7th Century madness...
Unless they are paying big bucks to the NFL, this is illegal. The NFL stopped several churches from broadcasting the Super Bowl last year.
Perhaps it's not under Islam. It's sure the case at my home. Very telling...
And oh boy, I'll bet those kids can't wait until the meaning of life is disclosed every seven minutes all afternoon long. (Make that VERY VERY long.)
Goats and camels welcome.

Someone needs to get a.........social life.

This youth leader in the real world will get a beating he will never forget if he did this at a bar.
But what if there’s a completely accidental ‘wardrobe malfunction’ during the half-time show?
My church does the same thing.
How can they allow them to watch football, they play with pigskin balls!!!!
Say’s who?
Thanks for the laugh. I’ve had more than my share of fun over a life time with beer and wine. A good commercial is a good commercial. I think these people forget where they are! And maybe what generation they are in!
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking,Abdul?”
“Duh,I think so Iman, but what if the sheep won’t wear the pantyhose?”
Neither will I, but for different reasons. First of all I mute all commercials, regardless of the show. (I just find them annoying, especially the ones pushing pharmaceuticals). Secondly, commercial time is the perfect time to go to the kitchen to get more beer and BBQ ribs.
I wonder whether the "piece of paper" has a picture of a goat...
ROTFL!
BAD! Unsuitable for viewing.
.
GOOD! Approved for children.
Only if I can bring some BBQ babyback ribs.
