Food Storage Buying Guide 2007 (6 months supply for one adult)

TOTALS

GRAINS:
Rolled oats - 20 lbs
Pasta (spaghetti/macaroni) - 15 lbs
Wholegrain (wheat, rice, pearled barley) - 112 lbs
Flour/cornmeal - 23 lbs

Hiya Granny, that would be enough food for me "alone" for two years.
The numbers don't add up for "dry food storage".
Wet storage I can see, but the weight ratio dry, un-saturated isn't right.

I know you didn't write this, so "Sue HUG ME"!

Btw, I'm growing a bumper crop of tomatoes this year so that I can dehydrate
them into Tomato powder, for extended use later, "up to 25-years".

Vacuum packed in Mylar.

LOL, I disagree....I could and did use it when I still cooked everyday.

Walton’s oats are in 20 or 25 pound bags and I was ready to reorder in 4 months.

One loaf of bread takes a pound and a half or flour, that is
15 or 20 pounds a month for me.

Not that far off and a little short if one were living only from the stored foods.

I almost was, as I had over a year that I had no way to go to town for shopping, when I first started passing out, I quit driving.

That year, I lived on Walton Feed.com supplies and did well and ate well.

LOL, I did miss cookies, cheese and fresh vegetables, but I survived.

I am glad you are growing a garden....think of me when you eat that first tomato.

Don’t be a stranger, check in more often.
