A field of 26,386 runners left Hopkinton for the Boston Marathon on Monday, with some top American contenders hoping to earn the first U.S. victory in the race in decades.
Temperatures in the 40s with a light headwind greeted the competitors at the start of the 113th edition of the race.
Should I put on my sneakers to partake in discussion?
I’ll be the first to predict that the men’s race will be won by a Kenyan, Ethiopian or Morrocan.
It would be great if Ryan Hall won. He’d be the first American since...I don’t know who.
I love to run, and I love Ryan Hall!!! Would be sweet if he won!
Just checked and it appears he’s in fourth place.
Darn:( well at any rate he’ll make a good showing. Darn Kenyans...
Do you know where we can view this on TV? I rarely watch the news anymore, but I would turn it on for this—as long as there aren’t too many BHO press conferences to interrupt it!
Or, you can access the race live at www.universalsports.com.
Ryan Hall is in second place now 30 seconds behind!
I sure don’t miss Boston on Marathon day!
Final results - top three:
1. Deriba Merga ETH 2:08:42
2. Daniel Rono KEN 2:09:32
3. Ryan Hall USA 2:09:40
thanks for posting the results. Ryan still did great, less than a minute behind the leader!
Darn, I missed it - should have pinged the Howie Carr list - since the marathon is so dear to his heart - lol.....
...while carrying signs saying "will run for food"...
Howie’s in FL and glad that he won’t have to deal with the closed off streets that divide the city and make his commute a living hell.
Sox: 2 run triple for Pedroia gives them a 6-1 lead
over Balt.
oops, Ortiz I meant.
