Archie is planning to propose to long-time girlfriend Veronica, but fans and all of Riverdale is asking: What about Betty?
The Betty-Archie-Veronica love triangle has gone on for more than 65 years and as these eternal high schoolers have moved through college and are now starting to act like adults.
"It's the milestone 600th issue and we're serving up the Archie story of the century as Archie marries Veronica!" Archie Comics publisher reports on its Web site .
Veronica, on her blog (yes, blog), writes : "I am so excited, I am getting Married to Archie. There is so much to do, so many plans to make. I wonder if Betty wants to be my Maid of Honor? I bet she is so happy for me! (((Hugs)))" On her blog Betty responses : "I am so sad, I don't even know what to say. Xoxoxoxo."
But blog Jezebel.com has seen the Veronica vs. Betty decision as a brunette vs blonde debate. The blog looks at other similar matchups including Jennifer Aniston vs. Angelina Jolie (brunette); Elisabeth Hasselbeck vs. Rosie O'Donnell (tie); Luke Skywalker vs. Han Solo (brunette) and sees a trend favoring brunettes.

I’ve always questioned what Ronnie saw in Archie. It’s not his good looks, charm or his money or lack thereof. Does Archie have something that we don’t know about?

When he (ahem)found out that Betty’s hair was the same color as Veronicas...he struck out for honesty.

I always liked Betty better. Archie is marrying for money, the cad!
She can control him because he's a complete duffus. She hasn't been able to 'control' any other man in her life. He makes less $$ than she does, and she can hold that over his head. She can manipulate and be the decision-maker in the family because he is afraid of her. He's afraid to say "No" to her because she'll kick & scream until tomorrow.
This is EXACTLY the same scenario that my brother is going through with his wife.
At least they didn’t go PC and have Betty marry Veronica.

Come on Archie, marry the nicer girl. Veronica is a spoiled brat :-).
I would have picked Ronnie too.
So Archie is marrying the rich girl rather than the girl he really liked.
